DD40 bezel cost?

I have a line on a WG DD40, it would need a bezel come service time. I’m assuming they are around 2k? Is this correct?

Probably better for a jeweller to take a look and see if they can repair it.

$2k just for the bezel seems quite expensive. You got a picture?

Agree please post picture to be able to see damage that you think would trigger a new bezel

Bigger question is why it already needs a new bezel? DD 40s are barely 3 years old. If it was in an accident of some kind, then there may be more to worry about inside too

It’s fine as it is based on the price, but I will not have it polished or corrected in any way when it comes time. It’s just one angle, but the entire thing has seen some action.

Im almost sure any capable jeweller can fix that without any conceivable difference to a replacement probably at 1/8th of the cost.

That looks tiny by the way.

I would leave it alone. You save money on a new one, and you retain the sharpness of the flutes. If you getit buffed the flutes will be flatter.

Fluted bezel hide ding and scratches well. Have a look a foot away and you can’t notice it.

I see marks like that as personalization should my watch need to be identified.

What are you going to do replace the bezel everytime you see a tiny ding, even if the bezel cost will be around $920 exchange, sure will be a expensive hobby.

I would take it to a competent jeweler or two and see what they say about a repair before I bought a new bezel. Get the information on the bezel cost to replace and make an informed decision.

I'm going to have to be saving a bunch of money to acquire a watch that has marks visible enough to have me thinking about fixing it before I buy it.

Just my two cents.

It’s a pretty considerable amount. Anyways, the pic is the better of the sides. I have zero marks on my watches other than hairlines, and I wear them daily.

I am sure the RSC will be able to make it look a bit better at service. Don't worry it is minor.

I'll parrot everyone else: I'd fix that rather than replace. The ding can never be fully removed, but once the sides of the ding are planed down to match the fluting, you're not going to notice the teeny bit of missing material. If you replace a bezel for something like that, a fluted bezel might not be for you.

new bezel for my skydweller was $2200 installed, not sure if it's the same though because of the command function

I would leave it as is for now. Perhaps you can ask a watchmen to rotate the bezel so that ding is less visible to your sight

Another option could be source a new bezel from a jeweler who changes out OEM bezels for aftermarket precious stone bezels. I’ve done this a few times at half the cost of having Rolex do it during service.

Hmmm... how perfect do you feel it will last until next imperfection? Of course do what makes you happy. Lovely watch and great dial too!

Gold and steel are relatively soft metals, you would be amazed how a skilled craftsman could make the bezel look new again.

Leave it alone, RSC can polish that up. Not worth replacing.

Gotcha. Well, if the numbers work for you, then I don't see an issue. It's a beautiful dial...and I think the WGDD40 is one of the most versatile watches around. I wear mine for literally anything and everything.
