It all depends on the condition of the 1665.

Try it on vintage forum, u might get a different answer. If u really like the Daytona, sure. It’s ur watch. Personally I won’t do it. I believe the 1665 is more rare n expensive than 116520. It also depends on the age n condition of the latter watch. The 1665 will be hard to replace.
I blame it on autoconnect. |

Just my opinion - I’ve had plenty of Daytona’s and a couple of SD’s.
I think your SD is nicer than a 116520. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I just asked because I was gonna say that if you’ve had it for so many years to the point that you are emotionally attached to it, a 116520 may never fill the void that your watch will leave. Now I wonder if maybe you bought the 1665, and 5 years later you’re kind of bored of it and excited to try something different. If this is the case, I say do it. Personally though, I am not sure that I would do the trade. I feel like a 1665 might be harder to replace than a 116520 is to acquire. Just my 2 cents. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Didn’t realize the current prices for 1665’s. In that case
I’m going to try for a 116500. |

The 116500 might be worth more than a 1665?

I wouldn't.
I'm not into divers but I like 4-digit vintage plus I ditched the 116520 I had because I found it annoyingly difficult to read at a glance in most lighting conditions due to the glare and low-contrast hands, and I'm not even talking about the subdials. My vision at all distances is still (thankfully) perfect, btw. If you like your watch to be legible enough to briefly glance at and tell the time immediately without thinking, there's a good chance the 116520 will disappoint you. It's a common complaint, so try before you trade if you choose to make it. I found the 116520 the most over-rated watch I ever owned. |

I have neither but if I had the coin to buy either it would be 1665, value would not be my motivation but the vintage class of a 1665, it just looks amazing on the wrist and says something about the owner too..

Not even thinking about value, I just love the 1665 and the way it looks. No way would I do a trade. I have to add that I am a HUGE Daytona fan too and I'm saying that! Lol. Good luck on whatever you decide. Whichever watch makes you happier is the right choice.
