What's your Holy Grail?

I'm in the process of acquiring my holy grail right now. Working on a trade for a Pepsi GMT Master II for my Deepsea. I thought the Deepsea was it but it's been in a drawer in the box for two years. I've been wearing my Omega Seamaster the whole time.

What's your Holy Grail?

My other "must have" is actually another Omega, a Speed Master of some kind. Still trying to decide which but leaning toward a Dark Side of the Moon.

My Pepsi GMT will be my daily watch. Doubt I'll ever take it off. I've been enthralled by the Pepsi ever since Magnum PI wore it. :)

Geez, the longer I think about this topic the worse it gets! I'm starting to covet a nice simple DayDate too. Matching pair for the wife and I? This is getting out of hand!

If grail is nearly unobtainable then the Platona is the one for me. Although the DaytonaC I am waiting on is very much a grail too.

My grail has been the A. Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk Minute Repeater for some time now. I doubt that I'll ever be able to own one, but I do dream of perhaps being able to own the regular Zeitwerk one day.

For strictly Rolex, my two would be the exact same as your two.

A Patek 3448 perpetual in white gold.
For Rolex, a triple calendar chrono. Not necessary actually to have been worn by a famous skier or emperor.
A Journe platinum tourbillion could scratch the itch.

Maybe one day I'll be able to understand why I keep wanting anything more than quiet, understated class. Maybe one day I'll be so grown-up, so secure, so confident and so wise that I will know that the only reason I haven't been able to obtain my grail is because I haven't progressed enough to know it is my grail.

Maybe, one day, I'll outgrow the constant yearning, and pass all my watches to my loved ones and go out and buy my grail.

When that day comes, I will have arrived. I will, (like the black-belt martial artist who understands that in order to advance any further he must once again don the white belt), understand that not having my grail was never a matter of insufficient money, but of insufficient maturity.

One day... when I'm wise enough...

Could not have said it better myself. This is exactly how I feel with the No date sub or an Explorer.

Less is more!
