I do like the D-Blue dial but the proportions and balance of the SD43 would probably take my money.

Really like the sd43 and thought it would be my next piece but recently saw someone in the street wearing a deep blue and as the sun hit the dial that thing really popped like no other watch I've seen and I was at least 20ft away. Most likely to be my next purchase I think.

D-blue all day.

After the initial release of the SD43 I think it will die down and be an ordinary watch. Still a nice one though.

In this case size matters. If your wrist can handle the Deep Blue, go for it.

The SD43 is not a step child to the DBlue, it is a great choice as well. The proportions are perfect.

It just depends on what sings to you.

Unless you know the Seller,I doubt any discounts Sir.Just like KL and S'pore ,Sellers in HK have absolutely no problem whatsoever selling Ref 116660 D-Blue at a wicked premium price such is the high demand for this Rolex watch.If you decline the offer,another buyer would gladly take your place...

I agree. It really helps to know someone in getting the most difficult to get models.

I got my D-blue from a friend whose brothers sisters cousins aunt's nephew twin knew a guy who once heard of someone being able to get the tough pieces from an AD at MSRP.

Finding a D-Blue at an AD without a connection or strings attached to buy it is rarer than a herd of unicorns galloping down Wall St on a Wednesday morning.

All that I said is not hyperbole btw!

I believe this used to be the case.
I walked into a ad the other day and after 5 min was offered a b-blue. I have never bought from them before. It was kinda crazy.

I have to say, the DSSD is a watch that I have always wanted to love, I tried it on last summer at a 5th Ave AD and I just couldn't get over how narrow the bracelet is in proportion to the case, that being said, I think the blue dial DSSD is unique enough that I would overlook the goofy proportions. Now the SD43 is really growing on me, the more I see it, the more I like it, I really look forward to trying it on, I wonder if the Rolex boutique on 5th Ave has the display model in stock to try on.

Tough choice. I'd wait it out to get the new SD43. The D-Blue is currently easy to get. But if it's going to be awhile, grad the D-Blue.

regardless, both are great choices, and future collectables.

On looks alone, I'd go D-Blue.

The new SD, whilst a beautiful piece, looks like a Sub on GH and most people would be hard pressed to tell the difference from ten yards.

I saw my first Deepsea Blue in the wild a few weeks ago and it was absolutely stunning! I'd go that route as the dial sets it apart from the SD43.

Wait till you get to try on the SD50. The red lettering really pops out. Plus, a lot of people that got to try on the watch, said it wears smaller than 43mm and it's a very proportioned watch.
