Battle: BLNR (Batman) or BLRO (SS Pepsi)

Surprised this poll doesn't currently exist here -- if it does -- I offer my apologies. Here it is short and sweet.

If both watches were available today, you own neither and can only have one (i.e. by buying one, you forfeit the right to buy the other), which one would you choose?

While everyone has their own criteria, here are some to consider:

Exclusivity: The esteem of getting the watch.
Movement: 3285 (BLRO SS) vs. 3186 (BLNR)
Heritage: BLRO's long heritage, but BLNR is the first of its kind.
Bracelet: Jubilee vs. Oyster
Bezel: Color preference
Case: The supposed update in BLRO's case
Value retention/appreciation: Short-term and long-term value.

Love my BLNR. First dual coloured ceramic bezel. It’s just a stunner. Mine won’t be going anywhere

BLNR.....

1) I prefer the color (especially over the not so blue and red ceramic BLRO)
2) Movement improvement means little to me, the movement is solid and extremely accurate with the right regulation/regular service......power reserve increase has no use for someone that rotates watches regularly like myself anyway.
3) I don't think the case got all "that updated."
4) End of the day, I think the oyster bracelet is more versatile than the jubilee.
5) Value retention, I think both will retain fairly well but it's never going to be a Daytona.
6) People who really care about the heritage of BLRO will be buying 16710/16700's anyway IMO.

BLNR for me
The new Pepsi colours are so wrong they just don’t do it for me
Movements are both fantastic extra power reserve is good but not a game changer

I have owned a BLRO, so been there already. BLNR bezel is so much better.

As for updated movement in the SS BLRO, I couldn’t care less, 3186 is a solid movement. Rather have old movement with proper colours than updated internal with colours that I know will erk me no end.

Would have been a better move for Rolex to go with totally new colours. Black & white ceramic bezel would have been perfect.

For colors alone? As much as I love the colors of the BLNR in every single picture that I see of it, I prefer the LN model since it flies under the radar more than any of the colored options. This being said, if I had to choose between the BLNR and the BLRO, I'd pick the batman every time. The color of the red ceramic just doesn't do it for me, and the two colors themselves are loud enough that I feel it'd draw unnecessary attention to itself in a professional environment.

Having just purchased my LN, I'm a little bummed about hte better power reserve, but realistically, the watch rarely leaves my wrist anyway, and when it does it sits on a winder so I don't need to worry about resetting the date/time. I also think that the PCL oyster bracelet is tough to beat - and I don't think that a jubilee fits the watch particularly well.

Pepsi has the better movement. But the jubilee bracelet ruined the watch.

well that sucks, now you have a target date and everything. Doesn't leave the rest of us much time to squeeze in first

Prefer the BLNR,

The black/blue is more versatile and neutral but still with a twist in the different shades of blue.

It fits classic men's clothing colors better (white, black, blue, grey). This is pure personal.

Don't like the shade of blue and red, like the BLRO before I find that the blue can look more darkish purple and the red even fushia/pink-like. The blue in BLNR looks more like a darker/navy blue ranging to almost black.

The Oyster-bracelet is the classic only sports watch Rolex bracelet.

The newer calibre is better but who will notice and what makes the difference in daily life/wearing? The is 3186 is really accurate mine about +0.05 sec. a day. Most of us wear the BLNR a lot in their rotation, some even daily so why does one need a 70h power reserve?

Different case size is also barely noticable on the pictures. Yet so see one in the flesh could be a while, first day of Basel my (small-town) AD had 20 orders in that first afternoon. Hope I can finalise my verdict when I see one.

Long term I couldn't say about the value, I guess both good and maybe in favor of the BLNR.

No one here owns the Pepsi GMT yet or has had an opportunity to handle one and compare it with other Rolex products at an AD.

Think a lot of people like to actually see a watch in person and don't always decide based on specs. I would like to hear the thoughts of those who will have both the Pepsi and BLNR in their collections, but won't be adding a Pepsi to mine.

On the other hand maybe actually seeing a Pepsi GMT at an AD will be like catching a glimpse of Bigfoot.

i thought that too as a knee jerk reaction when it was announced. Ive had no interest in jubilees in the past and never really tried one on either. After trying some on since the announcement, i think it could work with this watch. In any case its a different look then the rest of my bracelets, so its good for variety.

BLNR - BLRO colours looked off to me on WG model & same with the new SS.
I will probably never get to see one in the metal anyway

Surprised to see such a big lead with the BLNR. It's a stunner for sure.
I need to see jubilee on the BLRO to give my final weigh in.

While I will buy the BLRO, I would have to vote Batman right now. I love it and my feelings before I had it have not changed after over a year of owenership. I choose wisely with this one.

I’m on lists for the BLRO and while I have every intention of buying it as soon as I get a call, I will make the final decision once I try it on. The only thing I’m certain of is that my BLNR will be with me for many more years to come.

Couldn't care less about the history of BLRO since it's not the same freakin' watch, just a poor representation of the Pepsi color. However, if ever in the future they come out with "correct" colors then I may change my mind.
