Anyone who own the same model but different color please chime in

Hello folks,

I recently purchased 116610LN & 116610LV from my AD.
I've been wearing the hulk and had some thought.
Should I keep just one sub and trade another for 2-tone sub or the GMT?
I want to know your thought. Why would you own the similar watch with the different color dial.
I love them both and money is not a problem. I'm just trying to make some sense with my decision.

Thanks in advance,
V

I prefer Subs. Currently a 114060 and 116613LB, will add an LV at some point. Had 5 Subs at one time. If they made more colors I would buy more Subs LOL. Would love a white dialed white bezel Sub.

Agree with above, if subs work for you and money's not an issue... add a 116613LB

Looking at your rotation list, maybe consider keeping one Sub and purchase a TT GMT CHNR? Like you I don't like the idea of multiple versions of the same watch. You could sell the Hulk and have most if not all the money you would need to pick up the CHNR

Did they make you buy both?

I have both daytona Cs and wouldn’t dream of letting one get at this time

I would keep the Hulk and sell the LN for something else.

I own the Hulk (and a 16710), and have thought about getting the 116618 (gold sub), but even that seems too similar to the Hulk, as it feels like the same watch, albeit heavier and in a different tone. Would rather spend the money on something with a totally different feel, like the DayDate 40.

I own all the deep sea's. Probably will not wear the older models but there is definitely an argument to be made in both black and db dials. Completely different experience wearing them.
Also own BLNR and LN GMT's, just completely different watches even though the shape is the same.
In your case its even easier, I wouldn't see myself wearing a Hulk 100% of the time but how awesome is it for weekends, vacation etc. If you feel one is not getting wrist time because the other is 100% superior always its time to let it go but until that time comes I don't see any damage in keeping both/all.

I own three Black Bays. Why? Because I like the look of the watch and it fits my wrist nicely. All three have slight differences that I appreciate. If you enjoy the look of your SUBS keep them and wear them!

I received a 16610 as my first Rolex. This was the aluminum bezel black bezel Submariner Date. Several years later I bought the 116610LV or green dial/ceramic bezel model with the supercase and maxi dial. They are technically the same model but the 6 digit reference is obviously a lot different. Beyond that I can easily see why some people would buy variations of the same modern reference. I do enjoy contrast in my collection which is why I would never own a 116610 and 114060 per se, but I can understand someone buying the same model with a different dial or bezel.

I picture the GMT II LN as a compliment to the Hulk

Speedmasters, Subs, Tudor Chronos, Sea Dwellers.

I've owned several versions of the same model at the same time, but it was always temporary.

Replace one for a GMT, makes sense to have another complication. Sure a TT and I would pick up the new one. Such a beautiful watch

I'd swap the Sub LN for something else, just for a bit of variety. It doesn't sound like you've been wearing it vs. the LV anyway.

I was offered a Hulk two weeks ago at msrp. I wore my sub nd in to compare them. I loved the hulk but the two watches are far too similar in my opinion. 9 grand for the green and a date was too much for me. Opinions vary though.

I own BOTH LV and LN submariners.

Know how I do it>?

EVERYONE and their brother has the LN submariner, few people have the LV.

I wear the LV on the oyster bracelet it came on and the LN sub I put on a colored Rubber B or Everest Strap - and no matter where I am, NOBODY has the same submariner as me.

You could sell the LN sub and buy a GMT but why? SS keep their $ better than TT watches.

I have an LN and my next one will be the LV (hopefully in the next couple of months!). If money is not a problem I say just keep both. I also have a BLNR and, after the LV, I'm hoping to grab a white dial daytona. I agree with the post above about putting the LN on a rubber strap for more variety!

+1. I'm not a giant fan of owning multiple iterations of the same watch with just different colors. Switch things up and add different complications.

I own a Sub and will prob be adding a Hulk soon - gonna get rid of the Sub and replace it with an SD43 - two Subs is a little redundant for me.

The SD43 is similar to a Sub, but obvious differences.

Have both LV and LB . If I had to be one watch guy it would def be the 116613LB. That watch goes with anything and is so beautiful. I wouldn't miss selling my Hulk or Daytona-C to keep the LB.

I had two DJ41's.

I ended up selling one though. I still wish I had them both, but the cash was the priority.

I owned five large coaxial Speedmasters. As of tomorrow I will have sold two and never plan on getting rid of the other three. Have one in black, one in blue and one in white. All very different watches in my book.
