Offered both of these and passed today

Went to see my local AD today and gave these 2 a miss. Going to wait for the white and blue variants.

Did I make the right decision?

Someone else is going to be a happy person.

unless your in the watch flipping business of course you made the right decision. There are plenty of ways to make money. From a man I want that perspective you screwed up on the daytona as that thing is a beautiful watch!

Not if that's what you want. When you're spending this kind of money on watches, you have all the right to hold out for what YOU want in spite of the frenzy surrounding these models. That's cool you were able to keep your composure when presented with these 2 beauties.

You did well. I too passed on the black Daytona and the watch gods rewarded me with the white dial that I wanted a few months later.

Did you get on the list for these dial colors? Or, were they offered in lieu of what you requested?

Sure, no sense in buying them if you want them in other colors...you’d just be settling.

If white D is what you want - you did good. Takes a lot to pass up a Daytona C at retail.

I agree. this was my thinking as well. If you are going to get a white Daytona then I think the black Sky is better for the collection that the blue Sky. had you pulled the trigger on the black Daytona then I would say yes to wait for the blue sky or even at that point go with the white sky.

The TT no question the Daytona took a lot of fortitude to pass on. I wanted the white and was offered the white first. I'm not for sure if i would have done the black had it been offered first or not.

Nah I think you did the right thing in holding out for what you want. I would've done the same thing.

Very good friends with the AD and I'm the first person he's going to ring when a white Daytona or blue sky comes in next. Said both should be this year but he can't promise. All he can promise is the next ones are mine.

Tough choice. I think I would have grabbed the Daytona. Unless u have a great enough relationship with your AD to feel like u will get what u really want from them down the road.
