What’s more popular?

What’s more popular?

The Submariner (no date) or the Submariner Date (black dial / bezel of course)

Has to be the date version. The function is very useful and most one/two watch people need it.

When given a choice of two of the same Rolex model, cyclops always wins in a general popularity and sales contest.

I think the date is more popular.

But I prefer the no date.

The reality is that most people want the date. What’s great is that Rolex offers both.

Outside of TRF you won't find too many that would prefer the No date. In the real world, I've seen a dozen Sub C Date's while I've seen only 1 ND.

Having owned both, I greatly prefer the date. ND is cool at first but checking my wrist for the date quickly got old. Also I'm a huge cyclops fan so Date for me.

I prefer a date function on my watches. I’m not a huge fan of plain ole three handed watches.

What’s more popular?

I insist on a date window on all my watches. It’s something I expect and something I use all the time. Also note that the Sub Date sells for more than the SubND, both at retail and in the gray market.

On the basic black steel version, I prefer the no date. But I prefer most of the more colourful versions to begin with.

Date more popular for sure. For me the sub non date gets more wrist time than any other watch in my collection, which includes the BLRO, LV and BLNR. I think it’s the perfect symmetry which draws me towards this watch. Something about this one for me, I just love it.

I prefer the date. I suppose I’m old fashioned because I always check my wrist for the date instead of pulling out my phone.

My preference is for the Submariner; however, do expect the poll to lean towards the date model.

My guess is outside of TRF the sub date is more popular. I’d imagine the 114060 is more popular with the WIS community, but that’s just a guess.

Date. IMO you have to be a WIS to be into the no date and there are way less of us than people who just want a Sub. WIS like both, but random people don't like both basically.

I think you are correct generally speaking but I’m sure there are a few non WIS folks out there that prefer the look of the Submariner over the Submariner date and others that buy the Submariner for the slightly lower MSRP.

To the general non-wis public, the date for sure! For me, I prefer the non-date. For date, I’m all about the LVc

I have the no-date and love it; I think if you had to have ONE Rolex the date would be it. But as a second Rolex, the no-date is perfect.
