No date for me but I do admit that sometimes i look on my watch for a quick glance of the date, other watch on my rotation has date.

If only one watch, then Submariner Date.

If part of a collection then it has to be the original Submariner.

I think that for the average person the date is more popular. For the WIS the ND is the one. I prefer the ND.

I think the general public will prefer a date, usually. To the hardcore enthusiast, though, the symmetry, simplicity, and clean look of the date-less dial is very appealing.
