What’s more popular?

To me the no date version is more aesthetically pleasing and somewhat liberating

If only one watch, then Submariner Date.

If part of a collection then it has to be the original Submariner.

The 114060 is my only Rolex too. The date is everywhere you look if you need it. I just tell myself every morning what it is and don't forget it

I think that for the average person the date is more popular. For the WIS the ND is the one. I prefer the ND.

I think the general public will prefer a date, usually. To the hardcore enthusiast, though, the symmetry, simplicity, and clean look of the date-less dial is very appealing.
