Icon20 AirKing vs Milgauss

Hi all, I’m looking to spend around £4K on a new watch. I’ve narrowed it down to two love ‘em or hate ‘em models. Either a new AirKing (116900) or used Milgauss (116400GV). Having seen both with Rubber B straps, I’d be tempted to put them rubber!
Given I love both models equally, which would you choose and why? Is there one which is a wiser investment?
Appreciate any comments and opinions

Why not consider an OP 39? Looks better and is cheaper than both. Also has a "better" movement 3132 instead of 3131. I know this is subjective but the Air King is ugly as hell, id think youd have a very hard time trying to sell it in the future.

Milgauss. No contest for me. For anyone else it's their personal decision. You'll be wearing your decision, not me.

I personally would buy the AK over the milgauss but why not try them both on for yourself and go from there

Both are very cool watches, and both have a quirkiness that most other Rolex models lack. However, IMO the Milgauss is a more cohesive design, so it gets my vote. I may be biased though. Good luck!

Also, try not to concern yourself with investment potential when making your decision. But I will say this - right now both of these models are among the worst Rolex watches in terms of value retention. HOWEVER, I think it will be interesting to see what happens with both of these models 20, 30, 40 years down the road. They are two of the most unpopular models currently available, and they both possess very unique (some may say bizarre) design choices when compared to other Rolex models. For these reasons I think they have the potential to be the most valuable of the modern Rolex line in the distant future...or not. Only time will tell.

Air King. It’s a surprisingly charming watch.

Milgauss. I had my little crush on the Airking, but after some time it just seems to me like it just wasn't well thought out.

To be more clear I don’t dislike the Airking. I think they are both a bit quirky and fun.

Also to disclose my bias I may have bought one of these today.

The AK is a sad clown in the Rolex line up. Agreed.

Own both, we'll I sold my AK to help fund a Polar to take over daily duties. Although they share the same movement the Milgauss would be my choice hands down, Its just a beauty. If it were a daily then I'd choose the Air King because it's more of a tool watch with a more legible dial, where the Milgauss has PCLs and a fully polished case. Hard choice.. Love both..

Air-King.

Air-King is cooler. It's yellow-green theme is from the cockpit instruments of the Bloodhound Super-Sonic car.

Milgauss, they are in a league of there own, I would suggest to get the 2008 m-series with the black dial non-green glass. I plan on making this my 6th watch, it was suppose to be my 1st but I got sidetracked and wound up with some others. I also like that it fits me or anyone that is a technician and it fits me the most, plan to use it for work.
