Which version is the matte dial? I've got the 126660 and it seems to be glossy

I'd pick black over d-blue, not a fan of the gimmicky gradient look with vivid green lettering, doesn't look serious to me.

I don't own a deep sea. If i did it would be a deep blue. That dial will keep me in the honeymoon phase forever. I changes according to the light sourse, so it never gets boring like a black faced watch. Perhaps why i like my seri sub the diamonds play in the light the sapphires change to black to blue. It never bores me!

A similar question was asked on the AP forum about the Diver, which too has fallen out of favour and been usurped by newer models, I have owned both DSSD and the AP Diver and they were great watches but I'm onto other models now.

Love the black. I have bought it twice with the second time having the D-Blue available. For this third time seeing the D-Blue in person on some one's wrist made me a believer. So I went for the very unique gradient dial.
I still love the black but the blue makes me go wow just a little bit more often. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what people love, it only matters what I love. Go black Patrick, the darkside is calling. |

Still funny how the FS boards are full of people selling the D-blue one, less so with the black-dial one... I guess people are trying to make a profit on the D-blue?
Nothing wrong with either, it is all about personal preference. I know people love black and blue, on the D-blue, on the Batman, etc - I cannot see black and blue together without thinking about the 80-ies music-scene, e.g. Kajagoogoo ;-) |

Been wearing a DSSD for nearly 5 years and once properly fitted to your wrist is one of the most comfortable wearing watches I've owned. You forget about the size soon after putting it on. Overall there is something about the classic matte black that never fails to please. My .02

Maybe you or I could do it with the same support, but we didn't, the fact remains, someone ultimately had to go down, and HE did. It would be I think a bit ignorant to not recognize the significance of such a dive, even if from a scientific and exploration point of view. |

I had the all black before the D-Blue was introduced. The gradient dial won me over.

I tried on the Dssd black several times but once I saw the gradient dial I knew I had to have it. It looks so amazing in real life. Sent from my SM-G935W8 using Tapatalk |

Gradient dial is special IMO, I was offered one at MSRP and wanted to buy it but it was so big on the wrist it wasn't for me plus i'm not a diver so I couldn't justify it like I could a GMT or Daytona so I passed. The black version looks like and oversized Sub, I best 80% of the owners have never taken it diving. The other thing is all the etching is a a little off putting, not sure why it has to say Gas valve etc on the face.

I got one of the first deepsea blacks when they were first released. Absolutely loved it. However I think alot of people were put off by the size.
Fast forward to the deepsea blue and I think the special dial got people hooked. I happened to be in Dubai when the blue was released and was offered one for just over £7k. Turned it down because I didn't like the vivid green on the dial. However, I can see the attraction of the blue and the dial certainly makes it look special. Regardless of the version you have the deepsea is a seriously special diving watch. The black offers so much for the money second hand |

Blue gradient looks great in hand. Love the green lettering as it gives the dial and extra pop. Waiting on one for myself.
