Rolex watch was a gift

Hi guys/ gals...

One of my co workers that I've known for about 4 months just gifted me a Rolex yacht expert and was wondering if everything checks out with you guys. So far from what I've read online is that there's 4 of these examples ever and my friend happened to have one of them (lucky him) so he wanted to show his appreciation to me and gifted it to me

So far the back of the watch says 24k WG. What a BEAUTY

Yup, we consider each other brothers at this point and the trust level is unreal. I still can't believe he gave me a rare unique piece of machinery for free

Yes sir! My understanding is the whole case is 24k gold which is actually the first Rolex to ever put the purest gold on their watch

There's no original thread lol. It's just the usual "inherited, Rolex as a gift, won this item, etc.." Threads that made us do these

It's something the forum needs to get a quick laugh every once in a while.

To be fair there is the customized bamford popeye watch which that looks like. Not my cup of tea but super popular.

Ive had plenty of 24k gold rings, bracelets, necklaces and i can tell you that they are really soft so be careful of what you bang it on (if the case is indeed 24k and not just the back).

I would be suspicious, most popeye ym came with a white date wheel.

This is a rare "post spinach" dial, where the forearms are significantly larger than the more common "pre-spinach" watches of the 1970's. Christie's would likely start the bidding at $225,000 USD. I would insure the watch for $500k. A rare, exciting piece.

Funny thing is...you can't have 24K white gold. White gold is an alloy, 24K gold is pure gold...nothing alloyed in.
