1956 Sub? Help me identify this model please

Can anyone help me figure out which model this is? A good friend of mine is offering this to for sale. He thinks that it is a 1956 model but does not have any of their paperwork to support it and I have not taken the bracelet off to verify. Also what is this thing worth? I want to make him a fair offer. Also, is this a hard model to find and is it a collectible watch?

This is the only picture I have currently and wanted to see what it was and what it may possibly be worth. I cannot find anything online that makes sense...but I am also not familiar with older Rolex models

That is untrue, you can post a photo image by clicking on the photo button on the toolbar. Otherwise upload a photo by clicking on the paper clip button on the toolbar.

Bad pic but the watch isn’t from the 1950’s. Need clear pics, and you need to get the serial and model numbers between the lugs.

Not even close to being judged real from that pic.

I will see if I can get additional pics. He said it was serviced by Rolex about 10 years ago and he is trying to dig up the paperwork. I am tied up until the first week of December. Maybe I will just take it to the local AD to verify. I was just trying to see if anyone could help me in the meantime.

Seems to me they have accomplished that.
Also seems not what you wanted to hear.

That's your best bet, but based on that lousy picture you posted, don't expect much.

Now that I can see a blow up of the image you posted, there is no doubt in my mind that the watch is counterfeit.

If your story is truthful, your friend is trying to take you for a ride.
