IMO, shoe trees are a must for all leather shoes.

The 2 most important things for maintaining your leather shoes are 1) always use trees and 2) never wear the same pair of shoes two days in a row.

I agree with this.

I have shoe trees for all my shoes and boots, I don't own any boat shoes though.

Looking to add a second pair of Crockett and Jones to my wardrobe .... more specifically, the Hallams.

I have a pair of Islays, but since it's such a roomy last, there's no real way to scale over.

Does anybody have any Crockett and Jones built on the 348 last, so I might be able to do a fitting comparison?

I also wear a 9.5E in AE's on their 5 last, though I returned them because of poor quality.

Also, what's your preferred shoe cream? Melatonian? Saphir?

I have C&J Westbourne and Edgeware. I wear 8.5E on both, with Churche's I wear 8.5F, with Cheaney, Loake and Trickers I wear 8 All sizes are UK.

I use Saphir shoe cream but when using polish I use "The Shoe Snob."

For wax it's Saphir, cream mostly Saphir and a few Melatonian because of availability at the time, but conditioner it's Bick4.

Nice 975s, Steve! I forget how dark color 8 is from the factory. Mine have lightened up quite a bit.

They look immaculate. Do you wear them often? How long have you had them?

How many of you are into shoes... (Dress Shoes)?

I need to dust off the dust bag after seeing all these Alden posts

Ravello? Cigar?

If so, where / how did you find them?

Any thoughts on these? I'm leaning towards the blue ones, but I have never bought shoes online, never mind from overseas. I'm US size 9.

Pretty often. At least once per week. I think I've had them for less than a year.

Be careful. Shoe collecting can be just as dangerous as watch collecting.

Looking good! I'm somewhat disappointed with my color 8 LWBs. As the color has gotten quite a bit lighter, I can now see multiple blotches of dye on the shoes. I think this is a bit common for color 8, but it still bothers me.

Ravello. The pic makes them look a bit like cigar, though.

I was lucky enough to buy them from a guy on SF. I had the opportunity to buy a pair of whiskey LWBs also, but passed. I regret it.

I sent them an e mail asking about their sizing some time ago but they were very aloof and not much help so I didn't bother, it is a shame because their shoes look really good. I was initially drawn to them because their polish (shoe snob) is superb. It may be that the person answering was having a bad day.
