Got the call: 5712/1A
Been on the list for 15 months or so for both the 5711 and 5712/1A.
Just got a call letting me know that a 5712 has arrived and it’s mine if I want it... It’s gorgeous of course but I’m just not sure if it’s the one for me? The 5711 really sings to me and had I got the call for that I’d have no hesitation. What do you think I should do? I can always just wait for the 5711 - no huge hurry. I’m not a super rich guy and can’t afford both. I have a 5164 and I think a steel nautilus would be a wonderful addition. I’d prefer not to flip and stuff up the possibility of getting future allocations in the years to come. I’m not going to be buying any application pieces in the future so I’m not worried about that. Not sure if I should worry about that too much? Appreciate any advice you wonderful fellow forum members are able to provide. I guess I have 24 hours or so to make a decision. Tick tock tick tock! |

If your heart is not in it, don’t buy it! Only buy what you like and not the hype!

I wouldn’t do it and wait if I were you. I can see why you’re hesitant.. the cluttered and unbalanced dial of the 5712 takes away much of the beauty and stylish clean design of the nautilus.. if it was the 5726 it would be a different story...
good luck choosing! and do let us know once decided! |

Sell the 5164 and get both 5711 and 5712!
There is no way one would skip a 5712! |

You’ve already got the perfect one imho.
I like both your choices, but I don’t love them. If I had to choose, I’d pick the 12. I find the 5711 just a little bit dainty. Beautiful for sure. But not as much a daily wearer as the 5712

In a heartbeat. 5711 doesn't do much for me, but I absolutely adore the 5712. I've had it for about 6 months now and the magic of it has not worn off one iota.

I’d pass and wait for the 5711. Acknowledging there would be no hesitation if it were a 5711 should tell you all you need to know.

I love the 5712 - but if you’re REALLY after the 5711 — wait for it - period.
Don’t buy something you don’t want - just to buy something - especially a watch - just setting yourself up to be unhappy with the purchase. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Get the 5712. There is no guarantee that you will get a call for a 5711 anytime soon.

I would go for it; I own both and like the 5712 more. Besides that, it might take a while until you get the call.

If you are going to have just 1 watch, 5712 is really hard to beat. I'd buy it now.

Wait, if you didn't really want it, why were you on the list in the first place?

For me 5712 is better, micro rotor. Moonphase, PR small seconds. It’s the beans.

I would buy what you personally want, regardless of anybody else says! I had a similar dilemma and waited about 7 months for a 5712/1A and when it was approaching (2 weeks ago) I went to finally try it on at a grey and decided it was not for me. Loved it in pictures and on other people's wrists, but when I finally had it on my wrist, I just wasn't in love is all. I've then decided the 5990 was more my speed and am getting the next one my dealer gets.
