I’m throwing my 5968 in the trash

Eating brunch with with my wife. Waiter walks over and says- that’s a beautiful watch. Is it a Bell and Ross? I smiled and said why yes. It’s a limited edition Bell and Ross.

He leaves after saying- cool watch man!

Lol.

Haha...I remember way back when Apple came out with their iPhone and Samsung started to copy it’s design as well. People used to think buying a Samsung phone was the same as the more expensive iPhone although it wasn’t the same quality... imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

Yep, Patek is definitely under the radiator. I was wearing my 5740 with my nephew wearing his rose gold daydate. The waitress were flirting with my nephew and said he got an awesome Rolex. My nephew said his is nothing compare to my timepiece. The waitress look at it and and it is a vintage Casio.

I was looking at my 5164 the other day and marvelling that this piece was fetching £50K plus not long ago, even at retail it is a real task explaining its price to civilians.

He admired your timepiece.

Have a Bell & Ross here BR03-92 (original first version) and it's been excellent even after beating the sh*t out of it while racing Formula 2000 for years. Very reliable, and one time i dropped it on a hard floor and it caused the movement to stop. B&R serviced in within a few weeks under warranty.

My watches almost never get noticed, but I recently picked up this 2017 Halios, which is rare in its color and configuration, and I’ve had two people compliment me on my “nice Rolex.” Go figure...

Well it is true, Patek's greatest attribute is it's understated elegance.

Good response

I’ve had a couple of people ask if my Offshore is a Hublot. Each time i responds with a simple ‘I wish’.

The less people notice your watch, the better it is for you IMO.

During one of my first job interviews out of law school, I commented to my interviewer how much I liked his watch and how much it looked like my favorite watch, the Baume & Mercier Riviera. I asked him what his watch was called. "A Royal Oak". That was the start...

Everyone thinks my Royal Oaks are Hublots. It is quite tiresome. Hublot has really damaged the watch market

Sounds pretty classic. More props that he knows the brand Bell & Ross in comparison to the PP, AP, etc.

The less people know the better IMO as well. The only time I get critical (or at least in my mind) is if you walk into a competing brand AD and the sales has no clue what you are wearing (brand wise). Or the ADs that act particular snobbish/obnoxious. I say this knowledge is a requirement/perquisite of being successful watch AD... it has to equal to the brand(s) they carry.
