You could spend 100.000 USD on 1 watch ...

Just for fun ...
Imagine you win an watch related contest and you win 100K.
only a few rules....

1/ ONLY 1 watch not 4 watches that cost 25K. If you choose a 50K watch you don't get the other 50K on your bank :-)

2/ ONLY new watches, no vintage

3/ You get it within one week so if it has a waiting list, you get the first one available

4/ You're NEVER allowed to sell or trade it for another watch.

What brand would you probably buy ?

Since you are never able to sell or trade the piece for the purposes of this poll the value retention is ignored, it simply comes down to your current favourite piece at $100k, for this reason alone I hope the poll will reflect a bit of diversity compared to the obvious.

I voted Lange (Langematik Perpetual Honeygold)...but would also seriously consider a Voutilainen in white gold.

I voted Lange - quite a few at that price, and they all beat the equivalent Patek or VC, and associated independents, though I'd be very tempted to commission something interesting - a perpetual calendar or a rattrapante - from Ateliers de Chronometrie. Problem is, the watches I really want, cost a lot more. lol. There's quite a gap between $100k and a Roger Smith.

Pateks are soooooooo boooorning and predictable, plus everyone with a few quid has one.

Why no MB&F? You know, true creativity and freedom of mechanical design and engineering.

Lot of good options here. Love these above. I think the VC would be damn tempting. It’s a watch I can almost see myself saying let me put all my chips in on it then walk away from the table.

I bet I’m not the only crazy one on here to think “only have 100 to spend on a watch? But my real grail costs more”. LOL. We are a crazy and fortunate bunch.

Interesting to see so few people choosing Rolex.
However there really is no new Rolex for $100,000 that I want. All of the ones I prefer are below $50k. So, it would seem like a waste given this scenario.

My choice was Lange. In that price range, just prefer it to Patek or Journe. I think the just offer a lot more.

Fortunate enough to already have one of those in steel so one of their ceramic pieces are next in my line of sight.

26579CE - black ceramic perpetual calendar, although checking it's now $102k USD after the recent price bump. Just outside of the $100k limit!

Also an excellent choice. I'm a big fan of their RG but wouldn't say no to a YG piece if the right one came up.
