Patek Strap Dimensions

Hey everyone,

I’m thinking over a couple strap options as I may be getting closer on acquiring my first Patek. It would likely be a 5205R black dial. My wrist is on the smaller side and would require a short strap to make it perfect fit.

Naturally I would turn to PP to get it done but right now there appears to be lengthly wait as their strap manufacture is closed/behind.

I would like to order a strap in the meantime to enjoy the piece. And there appears to be a lot of quality strap makers out there as well. The previous owner also has a deployment buckle with it as well so I have two routes to go in the future.

Would someone be able to help clarify the dimensions for me based on the original pin buckle strap?

Lug width for the 5205 is 20mm? And is the RG pin buckle 16mm or 18mm width? 20mm x 16 mm or 20mm x 18mm? With the short strap most straps are 16mm so I assume transferring the pin buckle (even if larger) is still fine?

The deployment I’m thinking of waiting on PP for the factory to open.

Appreciate the quick help!

Cheers!

I'm not sure about the size for your particular model but I used a caliper to measure the correct size for my PP. It was easier than searching all over the Internet (and not finding any answers).

Short strap pin buckle size is the same as the regular strap. Did you call Henri Stern in NYC? Ask for Tracy. They usually have the straps in stock.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll try that route.

For those who are curious... after some digging and investigative work. I found an advertising for a Patek strap catalogue which happens to have the sample page of its contents showing 5205R, G , and a few others models with the size as 20mm (lug width) x 16mm (strap width on buckle side).

Per the time of my original post, I didn't have the watch in my possession to measure myself. But thank you for your help!

Posting this for those who are trying to find the same info on archive thread as future reference.
