New Grand Seiko release: SLGA017 evolution 9 collection (AJHH) Association Japon de l
Special limited edition of 255 pieces. Man, I’d be on this if I had the coin. Looks fantastic. Even better than the SLGA007 Lake Suwa. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

GS definitely needed more limited editions. Wish Omega would follow suit.

had a snowflake with the original plain seiko logo that i thought was so cool, wore it daily, then they came out with a billion variations and lost all interest. one watch that would make me interested would be an urushi dial diver.

Ah yes, the Blueflake dial.... not to be confused with the Skyflake dial.
You see, the Blueflake dial is inspired by nature, resembling the reflection of the sky cast upon a bank of snow in the beautiful backdrop of the Studio Shizukuishi in Iwate prefecture, as it naturally occurs at 5:00 PM on Weekdays. But the Skyflake is very different, because that one is inspired by nature from the reflection of the sky cast upon the same bank of snow but at 4:30 PM.

A new option is always good, IMHO.
I think the question should be: do I like the watch or do I not like the watch? LE strategy has nothing to do with a particular watch. That being said, what do I think of this watch? I think it is missing something to make it feel special. It feels a bit dull, IMO, with the all-brushed bracelet and "plain" (relatively speaking) dial. It doesn't "feel" like a 10k watch to me. The birch models' dials are far better. |

What is with the defacing of the rear crystal? I hate when GS does this to casebacks, or worse, make rotors that look like they came out of some windup toy you give to a 3-year old.
Cut it out GS! |
