What are your Rolex holy trinity watches?

As title suggested, what are your top three watches from Rolex? I know some of us have way more than three, but let’s say a flood washes away all your watches except three, which would you like to see survive?

You can list the specific dial and/or bezel colors if you like.

I’ll go first: Submariner (Cermit), GMT II (Batman), and Daytona (Panda).

I'd be happy with a DD40 RG Olive or Eisenkiesel, YG Blue Sub, RG Rootbeer.

I currently have the peasant substitutes of those watches which are: DJ41 Blue stick dial/jubilee/fluted bezel, TT Bluesy, TT Rootbeer.

You will love the CHNR. I waited 5 months on mine last year (from May 2020 to October 2020) and it's probably my favorite watch right now.

I only have three Rolex so that leaves me with little choice! Sea Dweller 116600, Daytona 116519LN, and GMT 126710 BLRO.

If I was selecting three from the full Rolex range, I’d probably swap out my Daytona for a meteorite dial on OF.

Nothing from todays Rolex line up excites me,but always wanted a 1930/40s Rolex Prince with Doctor style dial. Not a fan of ceramic bezels or any precious metal watches, I have a 6263 Daytona which while alive would not sell at any price. As it was my Fathers watch and than means more to me than any new Rolex, have a 5513 sub and my personal trusty working tool favourite a 16600 SD. These are the only watches I would like to survive as they have more history of ownership and wearing, its not all about ££$$€€ like many today.

Had to look up the first two you mentioned: very cool and classy pieces!! The Daytona definitely has a lot of value in more ways than one.

I must say that the green dial Daytona is quite something. That is a great looking piece!! Wow!

Because you can sit on your watches but can’t wear your furniture, right?

Curious why you (and others) decided to have multiple variants of the same watch.

Sub, gmt, DJ. It’s their big 3 and all are icons. People will argue Daytona but I’ll take that down right now. It’s a chrono that broke no new ground, introduced nothing groundbreaking, and used an outsourced movement, and got beat by the speedy pro for use on the moon. It’s only claim to fame is association to celebrity period. If we say big 3 on hype, yes one has to include the Daytona. I would not call the Daytona an icon.

When I think holy trinity I think of 3 classics by Rolex. So my top 3 even though I am not a huge Daytona fan are 1. DD, 2. Sub and 3. Daytona
