Is this legit?

Offered this watch but have no experience with omega. Very excited though! Any information provided would be extremely helpful. No box/papers. Is this legit? Thanks in advance!

I am no expert on this reference, but if it is suppose to be an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Co-Axial Master Chronometer, I would say NO! On initial look, the date window just seems to sit too high and is too small, and then the crown is straight-sided, rather than tapered. I would find out exactly what reference you are being offered, and then look at the pictures in a few different reviews to examine the similarities. If it doesn’t look right, walk away from the deal.

Thank you. I appreciate the knowledge.

I did notice those items.

I believe this is an older generation watch as you can see from the picture below it has a 8500 caliber whereas the new models have an 8900 caliber.

So confused and I want to make a mistake

Resolution is very low and it’s hard to determine the authenticity.

My suggestion is to buy the seller and then have the watch verified at an Omega certified watchmaker.

The balance bridge doesn’t look right to me. Same comments ref the date window. I’d also add the clasp is not correct either. Avoid.

Can't tell for sure without higher resolution pictures but it doesn't look quite right as noted above. If you can get better quality pictures you should be able to see the watch serial laser engraved on the underside of one of the lugs. This number should also be laser engraved on the movement. I'd look for those numbers, confirm that they match, and then search against known fakes. If the watch is local to you I'd definitely have it inspected at the local AD regardless of what pictures you see.

I don't think that dial was ever offered with an 8500 movement. It should only come with an 8900 movement.

This! If you have to ask strangers on a forum, you are already going down a dangerous road. Buy from someone you trust or from an AD.

I don’t believe it was and the date window was at 3:00 on the previous model.

The watch was offered to me from a friend of a friend. Agreed that it needs to be reviewed at an AD. he sent some more pictures

I'm pretty sure the consensus here is that your friend's friend is either trying to scam you or was scammed himself in the past. I would simply and politely walk away.

It’s a fake. I recommend informing the friend of your friend that it’s a fake watch, and that it should not be represented as an Omega. Someone should put a hammer to it.

I’d be using my energy to find out why a friend of a friend was trying to take me for a ride on a terrible obvious fake.

Fake. Dial wrong, date size and location is all wrong. This model should have the cal 8900 vice the older 8500 movement. Balance bridge is wrong. Stay away from this one!
