Ap diver steel bracelet question
Was in at my local ad today to see about the steel bracelet, was told it would take around 4-6 weeks. Bit longer than i was expecting and said i would get back to them. Phoned ap boutique in London and same none in stock and 4-6 weeks.
Waiting is not the end of the world, just would of liked it a bit sooner. So had a quick search on the forum and found 3 for sale and pretty cheap. New in uk i was quoted £2500 and the 3 on the forum 2 are mint and other is brand new and all under or around $2000 so i think that works out around £1600. Just wanted to ask do these come out in different variations because inside the clasp two of them are identical and the other has different ap sign and obviously i dont know much about them. |

Bought mine back in 2016 in NY for cca 2,100 USD. Looks like prices keep going up.
You should have new modern clasp (bigger AP sign) which is easier to operate and more secure. Be careful of the fake ones, have seen very good deals back in the days but no proof how they acquire it Finally, I stopped wearing mine after some time, was too big and heavy (42mm elephant with steel bracelet cca 250 grams)... Yes there are some variations, but essentially 2 types if I recall correctly. There were some discussions in this forum about 2 years ago when I got mine. I only wear it on bracelet.

Wise move. Lots of fakes around. A few weeks is nothing vs. peace of mind.

Yes best way from the AD.
The diver looks super on the bracelet ! How are you finding the watch otherwise ?

I've bought 4 now from various known internet sellers and sent all of them back.
Three of them were circa $2k and the seller promised they were genuine... One was a known copy and didn't fit at all. I've come to the conclusion that the only way to know for sure is to buy from AP. The extra $1k is worth years of endless wondering if I'd dropped $2k on a fake. |

Ive even found myself learning about watches after buying the ap and been reading about the history of ap, something ive never bothered about in the past. So think this ap has made me go from just somone who likes watches into a bit of a watch enthusiast lol. |

Just been told by my ad that ap had a bracelet in stock and its now on its way, should be in next week. Should i let the ad fit and size the bracelet or take it to a actual watchmaker. There a shop close to me that services rolex ect so am thinking i would rather have someone like this fit the bracelet or am I overthinking it and just let the ad do it ?

The ADs go on training days to AP so I’d definitely let them fit it rather than a separate watch maker. There aren’t many UK ADs left so if it’s Owen & Robinson that you’re buying through then I can assure you that they are excellent.

My understanding is that any underperforming ADs have already lost their status so if ROX is still an AD then they will be good.

I also have a diver and look forward to seeing pics on the bracelet. I still love the rubber band as it is very comfortable.

So got the call yesterday that my bracelet had arrived and went into town this morning. I am blow away with the quality of the bracelet and just how it completely changes the whole look of the watch. Absolutely delighted with my first AP and happy I decided to get one instead of getting another rolex.

Looks great! Digging the "chunkier" look for the watch overall. Reminiscent of the beast which has been on my radar as the next potential AP.

I don't know, somehow I think the rubber strap looks better on this watch alone...
