DSSD 14 days on Wrist.

Thought I would write a quick 2 week review on the DSSD. Bought it on the 31st May, just before the UK increases and have worn it everyday since. It is an amazing piece of kit. I am used to wearing big watches so the size didn't worry me at all, nor did the weight. Alright it does stand quite tal on the wrist but that is all part of it for me.

I have had a few friends who don't care one bit abput watches comment on it as it does have such presence, one friends dad who I gave it to to tray read the depth features etc and commented "Thats useful then!!! 12800ft". Thats when I got into a lenghty discussion with him about things that have been designed that will seldom get used for the purpose. Take for example a Bugatti Veyron capable of over 250 miles per hour, I doubt anyone has managed to reach that, or then more commonly the Range Rovers and 4X4's. Do any of the owners actually take them within a hairs width of anything but tarmac? Very rarely! I know the majority don't. He liked the DSSD but said he had always liked the DJ but never bought one.

Another friend who is into watches wears a Sub non-date asked to try it on so we did a swap for a while. Putting a 14060 on straight after a DSSD is a real shock!!! It weighs next to nothing and the slim case!!! Well I couldn't beleive it. For a watch that looks so similar!?!?! My friend loved the DSSD and couldn't beleive how until chatting after we had swapped back he hadn't even noticed the "Original Gas Escape Valve" or the "Ring Lock System" around the rehaut as on pics this is what had really put him off the watch. He is now looking to tade his 14060 for a 16600 Sea-Dweller as he wants a bit thicker watch now but not quite as thick as Mr. DSSD

Still loving the watch, suits every occasion my love of Panerai has been put on the back burner for a while now but I am sure that will change when my PAM411 Firenze Boutique Edition arrives, that though will be a special occasions watch though.

Great to hear you are still enjoying it......
Despite it's proportions, it is a comfortable watch for me and one that I love to wear myself!
