All I can say is my purchase was flawless. Have had it verified since I'm no expert by my local AD and a well known local rolex repair guy. The have good standing with the BBB which comforted me.

As everyone here's said, it's inevitable that you promptly begin thinking about what's next? I adore my new sub, Make no mistake. However I've been a long time fan of Exupery, even have a tattoo. I very much would like an IWC Saint-Exupery edition. Is this sacrilege to mention here? And after that may you ask? A Franc Villa, one of the most amazing watches I've seen... it's possible I'm just a watch guy?

Thought I'd share my further experience. The submariner that I purchased did not come with a warrantee card which, based upon reading here, made me a bit nervous. I told Dennis who has agreed to replace it, at no extra charge, with one which does have a corresponding warrantee card. My email to him was somewhat aggressive because I feared I could be stuck, but he responded quickly and professionally, willing to do whatever would make me comfortable. I'd have no qualms whatsoever referring anybody to him. Ask for Dennis!!

PS. I'm even considering trading up to the new DeepSea. It's SOOO extreme and I'm a huge fan of extreme for a singular purpose!

Well this thread of mine is old but I felt I should update it. After wearing my 16610 for a few weeks I found myself wanting it to be larger, not because I want to show off... I simply love very heavy, purpose built objects. It's an aesthetic which carries me beyond watches. I'm into astrophotography and own a Takashi, an amazing beefy purpose built object. I collect Dunhill pipes. Same aesthetic there to. And so as I'm sure you'd guess at this point, I've gone with a Deep Sea. And for anybody out here, considering a late model used rolex, Gold Watch Co, he gave me the best price by far on the Sub-C, allowed me to wear it for almost a MONTH, gave me full credit for the Sub, paid for overnight return shipping, then same day overnighted me my new deep sea and at the best price. Dennis Gold is f'ing amazing!!!!!!! I can't recommend him enough!!! I went into this transaction expecting my relationship with an unknown-to-me dealer to be over when I bought the Sub-C but he stuck with my indecisive self for over a month to make me happy!!!! Oh and it's actually even more complicated that that because the first Sub had no warrantee card which made me nervous... So he was going to, for no charge, replace it for another Sub which had it's warrantee card.. Anyway he did EVERYTHING to make me happy!! I'm shocked by and thankful for the way he's treated me!!
I'm here awaiting delivery of my Deep Sea. I'll post photos in a couple hours.

You just spent what most people consider to be quite a bit of money. Having a bit of buyers remorse and uncertainty is natural. Fortunately this will only last until you have the watch in your hands. Once that moment comes you will realize you did a great thing. As far as the warranty card goes, the only thing it signifies is that a Rolex will be problem free for 2 years and if not they will fix it free of charge. If the Rolex you bought is more than 24 months from the original purchase date, that card is meaningless. I don't get why so much emphasis is put on "papers" since they have no actual value to the new buyer if the timepiece was sold originally more than 24 months ago.

Sounds like an amazing transaction. My wrist being only 7.5", I cannot pull off the DSSD. It just looks huge and bulky on my small wrist. Congrats on making the trade for what you really wanted.

I'm not sure either concerning the card, but when it comes to resale value it matters, right or wrong, it matters. People seem to see at is a part of its authenticity, not for actual warrantee work, but I agree that it's weird.

Watch the f***ing expletives man! ;)
Fantastic watch. Glad the transaction was so smooth. Smart on the dealer's part! When you want to add to the portfolio your dealer has certainly earned your repeat business!
Funny someone mentioned having issue with the size on a small 7.5" wrist. Mine is the same but I think it fits well (tried it on at the AD). It does feel top-heavy though.
Enjoy that bad boy!

Hey dude, watch the f'ing references to my f'ing expletives!! 😉
Yeah I like it thus far! For sure it's top heavy!! It hasn't worked it's way off my wrist though, it fits well and the casing covers the top of my wrist such that there's no shift.... yet.
Funny how much a good dealer effects the entire ownership experience.

Nervous new about to be Rolex guy

When I first opened the box and handled the watch my reaction was to think "damn that's a big watch", but after having links removed and wearing it properly fitted my reaction was "this watch is perfect.... if you're built like Shaquille". After wearing it for a bit and becoming relieved that, while top heavy, it doesn't slide around at all, it's growing on me and fast. When wearing my Sub not a single person noticed, but just today a few people commented. It's a great ice breaker, both literally and metaphorically. To anybody whose ever considered the DSSD I highly recommend it, assuming the weight doesn't bother you. It's a truly awe inspiring piece of purpose built engineering!!!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410564422.265045.jpg
