I like them both.
To me it's a preference similar to switching which watch to wear, sometimes you want more bling, sometimes not.

Think SS subs would not look right with PCLs but they look great on SS GMTs and precious metals.

Personally, I think they suit my Daytona, just as the brushed seems to suit my Sub C

At least to my eye.

Who will disagree when they see the Platona

I think it all depends on the watch. Some models are designed for PCL, some for the BCL.. If all else fails, brush the PCL..

I really like PCLs, but I really do dislike how they scratch so easily (gold).

So a new PCL looks best, but a BCL looks way better than a scratched PCL. Having a PCL watch makes me less likely to wear it as often, which is a shame.

I used to like PCLs when they first came out... now every watch seems to have them, I mean non-rolexes. They seem to be everywhere.

I love the pcl and outer brushed links combination. It's what makes a Rolex

I ended up brushing my GMT IIc. It took care of my PCL OCD PDQ.

My preference for sport watches is brushed, but after owning a SS Daytona for about four years and then a YM and BLNR, I must admit I have come to like them a lot. If I could choose, brushed would be he choice, but polished is pretty good too.

I like the polished center links and feel they add to the look in a positive way.

Just get them brushed, and voila you have your GMT.

I -$#@*!?- love them. They make the watch and give it a whole new personality. Of course I agree with Rolex and the models they gave it to is just perfect. I wouldn't want them on a Deepsea, but a Daytona without them would look neutered to me.

There's really no point in these types of threads, it causes division. Different people like different things, that's life. But we're all here because of what we like not because of what we don't. There's no wrong answer in Rolexes and plenty to choose from, just get the one you like and you can customise the ones you don't, like brushing the links.

I for one love my Rolexes the way they leave the factory, perhaps a rubber b or nylon here and there to mix things up.
This of course does not mean I dislike oyster bracelets because I -$#@*!?- love those too.

On some models they look great, on others not so much. I personally think they add a bit of flair to the overall look
