How much?

I'm very fond of the Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer 1846 in stainless steel. It is no longer made and I lack the funds now to purchase a used one (or NOS one). This brings me to another UN watch, this one. Care to put a price on it?

They had one in Vegas when I was there last. The lady would not pull it out of the case for me to look at.
I was not impressed.
Then, my wife stops in the store & I ask her if she could show the Sonata Catherdral to us, she snapped "we can't let just anyone look at that watch".
We were floored.
I felt like going across the mall and buying the Breguet alarm, just so I could show her my "new watch".
So, sorry, didn't get to look at the price tag

its a marvell of making so its surely not priced as a watch but as a piece of Art that is sure very pretty and its beauty is not just in the looks...ots a lot deeper than the skin ;)..I actualy didn't know much about UN as a brand until someone else mentioned a specific model in a thread and there I said I dont know much but went on to research/study the brand and now I am very impressed..I mean the kind of stuff they churn out is ot just watch-making but Art Making and thats just superb if one can afford it..Its like savouring culture...beautiful brand..I like their philosophy.

I'm not surprised, Frans!!

UN made something similar, but this time it was a couple fornicating on the dial on the hour, every hour.

The watch retailed for an astounding US$750,000. The Sultan of Brunei's brother was such a big spender that he ordered 10 of those at a whopping US$7.5 million!!

Looks like platinum. That is a beautiful watch. I should be so lucky to own one some day.

Ulysse Nardin Circus Minute Repeater
limited to 30 pieces

you must see this -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWurkkh_U_A

get it discounted on ebay for only $400K

I was at the annual holiday at Darakjian Jewelers in Michigan (AD for Nardin) - and their national sales rep was there with a collection of limited edition pieces. They allowed me to try on (and play with) the Forgerons Minute Repeater - and at only $155,000, it's a bargin!

my God!..what the hell are these things selling for and what the hell is Sultan of Brunei or his family doing?..I mean my God those are some whopping figures for watches that I know they will never even see time in

anyway, I think UN is much much more in terms of value and arts than I estimated...wow man!..simply astounding...PP gets so much publicity in terms of hjigh prices and high end that we never know how much so many people spend on so many other watch brands..cool.
