Pure silver is not really made up of only silver. It has 99.9% silver, and a small content composed of other metals such as copper.
Sterling Silver, on the other hand, consists of 92.5% silver, and the remaining part consists of copper – mostly copper. This is the reason why Sterling Silver is popularly referred to as 925 Sterling Silver or just .925. 1998 is probably the year of manufacture. |

I knew the thinks about 92.5%, thank you for explaining though, I didn’t know the rest was mostly copper. It’s kind of interesting that they would put that in each link. Kinda weird but looks neat ! |

I’m starting to consider buying this ID bracelet instead of the curb link bracelet that I wanted (also from Tiffany and Co)

What do you all think?
I like it because the ID part looks thin and like a block of silver. However, I don’t think I would engrave it with anything. Would that be weird? |

ID bracelets were the hip thing to have when I was in middle school. I’ve never been able to get them away from that time period.

What do you mean when you say “I’ve never been able to get them away from that time period”? Yes they were popular when I grew up too. I’m Mexican American, a lot of my buddies had one, but most were gaudy like this: The Tiffany one is a little different. Kinda pays respect to the id bracelet, but looks more subtle and classy somehow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Men and jewellery, makes me think of these two characters.
Dave Angel (Eco Warrior) and Del Boy Trotter. "Mangetout Rodney, mangetout". |

Watch, wedding band, and sometimes a masonic ring.

What's even more amusing is that I pulled my other T&C bracelet out and forgot that it was an ID bracelet. (pic stolen from web) |

I agree completely with your philosophy which should be extended to every aspect of a gentleman’s life. I had the ring made as a graduation gift to myself back in 1980. A ½ct brilliant-cut diamond is placed in a 14ct white-gold setting (selected for its durability). The stone is then mounted on a concave-cut black onyx face. The assembly is then mounted on a high-polish 18ct yellow-gold ring. |

- A MedicAlert bracelet for a diabetic/epileptic patient - Something a child/teenager wears - Something that will get in the way of anyone who is active. - If a gentleman wears a bracelet it is a gift from his wife /gf/ significant other or daughter... - A POW/MIA bracelet is an exception and acceptable As I have stated before, a good watch (you can have lots of them for variety) wedding band if married and maybe a tasteful ring. Other than that, take the money you might spend on "jewelry" for yourself and buy your wife jewelry, invest the money, buy things for your family, collect things...cars, watches, guns, donate to a charity you like, take a trip and see things you might not have. |

Haha nice! I don’t know if it’s a cultural thing or not, but yes, I saw it a lot in my Mexican American friends, or their fathers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice. Gifts to self are beautiful. Did you do the white gold setting so as to not affect the color of the diamond with a yellow gold setting? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
