Hey Dave,
Congrats to your wife.

Apologies if this is a really dumb question, but.....
With the myriad of info' flying about in the media. I'm not clear about
the possibility of a vaccinated person, passing the virus on their non vaccinated
spouse.
Are you 100% convinced, that your wife can't pass the bug on to you?

I'm in my 70's and expect to be called for my 1st jab, any day now.
My wife is quite a bit younger than me, and asked the question.

I Got my First Vaccine Dose Yesterday

It’s a good question but we just can’t be sure that a vaccinated person who is exposed to the original virus (or a new variant thereof) could pass it on to someone else.

The short answer is that we don’t know yet...

The two vaccines are good at preventing COVID-19 illness (90%-95%).

But that’s not the same thing as preventing SARS-CoV-2 transmission.

Sorry, I have only just seen this.

The answer is that at the moment, no one knows. Until I have had the vaccine, Carole, works on the assumption that she may carry the virus and so is very careful to shield me and her as much as she can.

Carole had no side effects from the AstraZeneca jab, her Mum (93) slept all the next day, someone from Caroles work said she had an awful time with fever and nearly went to hospital because she felt so bad.

However the nurse did say so do as you wish.

After the first dose take extra strength Tylenol for 24 hours after even if you feel fine.
2 hours BEFORE the second dose start taking Tylenol and keep taking it for 24 hrs. they are experiencing for symptoms and pain at site from the 2nd dose that's why taking it beofre.

Good advice...take the first Moderna tomorrow...pretty exciting..

Regeneron apparently just tested very well at symptom prevention. Is there any advantage to the vaccine?

https://www-nbcnews-com.cdn.ampproje...mp/ncna1255667

An excerpt: “These data using REGEN-COV as a passive vaccine suggest that it may both reduce transmission of the virus as well as reduce viral and disease burden in those who still get infected,” said George Yancopoulos, president and chief scientific officer of Regeneron.

Just received the Pfizer vac. So far so good. Me and wife got pretty sick the first of the year with covid and the experience convinced me to get the vac. Plus we have a young daughter and when both parents go down it’s a very scary situation to say the least. Everyone stay safe!!

Awaiting my second dose of Moderna.. Was worried about growing a 3rd arm growing from somewhere, but I figured since Rona killed an uncle and aunt it couldn't hurt! Besides, who knows what the Army shot in my butt years ago!

Friends got the Pfizer doses and said the 1st dose is a small amount and the 2nd is A_LOT bigger (more juice).. I got it mostly because I feel they're gonna want you to have it to travel, especially overseas and I want to hit Scotland!
