1st timer here
Dipping my toes in the fountain pen pool. Ordered a couple of starters. A lamy safari and a pilot metropolitan (both in fine nib). Pics to come soon. Really like the vanishing point, but I didn't feel I was worthy enough for it to be my first. Would love any suggestions. Converters, ink, etc

Welcome! Good choice of starter pens. They are versatile and robust.
For my money, a large part of the fun of a fountain pen is filling it from the bottle so get a couple of converters and start looking at inks. I use Diamine inks in almost all of my pens. They're great quality, flow well and are available in a vast spectrum of colours (they also do smaller bottles so you can test a few before settling on your favourites. Have fun and please share pictures of the pens and your subsequent playing with them. |

Well JCC....
If you like Rolex you will love the world of fountain pens. Your choices are great for starting out and you might want to think about getting a 1.1 italic nib for that Lamy as they are interchangeable, but there is plenty of time for that. Glad you are here and if you have any questions just chime in.
