Is this salvageable?

So after browsing the depths of eBay, I stumbled across this

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F112636278761

I mean is this salvageable? I like a challenge in life if it is as I’d like to rescue it and have it working again, But I’m not 100% sure on this one.

First off its a diver with a J serial and a solid case back which is no good
Secondly it appears to be a diver chronograph based on the pushers and again there shouldn't be a solid caseback and there shouldn't be a date wheel.

Yep , no date, ceramic pushers, and a clear Caseback should be there. I’d love to hear what the seller says

Looks like someone took our advise about taking a hammer to a fake. But now, someone else found it in the trash and is trying to sell it.

im 100% sure its a piece of rubbish! lol!
i especially like how the screws on the back dont seem to go all the way through to attach the bezel..... its almost funny that people are bidding on it, you would think you would need to know/ do research as the OP is before you would offer your money up for something as bad as that

Someone probably found out it was fake, destroyed it, then someone else found it in the bin, now it's for sale lol

Looks like someone's dog ate it before it was reclaimed.

It is salvageable - if you manage to find a genuine case, movement, dial, hands and crowns and replace them with everything that you are getting on that ebay auction.

The question is . . .

. . . even if it were genuine, what would the cost of parts be, and would the manufacturer sell you what you needed?

It's a safe bet they'd insist on providing the parts while doing the restoration themselves and you'd have double its retail value or more in it when you were finished.

Unless the watch is of extremely high value or a true rarity, a restoration of this nature is unrealistic and fiscally irresponsible.

Find something you like in good working order, buy it, put it on, and go to the movies.
