A little help choosing between PAM00915 vs PAM00992

Title says it all, I'm looking to get my first Panerai watch it's come down to 915 vs 992, yes I know they are esthetically different Luminor and the other is Radiomir. I would like second opinions from others, as well as if there is other recommendations, my ears are wide open. Thanks!

IMHO, a wire lug Rad looks best with two hands and 3/6/9/12 on the dial, line a 210 or 232. So, I would go for the 915 here.

As an aside, per the photo below, Panerai’s website got its own watch wrong: a “base” model has two hands, not three.

so for Rad if I want to get brand new it would be PAM01334 as only option if I want the sandwich dial since it looks like 210/232 is discontinued.

I went to the boutique today to try on few different models, and though Luminor is great watch, I'm more drawn to Radiomir watches, I am now down to 1243, 1334, and 992 to decide. And yes I know only the 992 has the 8 day reserve and seconds hand. I am just curious to know what others would choose if they were getting a brand new Radiomir.

I chose the 992 for the clear case back, 8 days power reserve and the matt steel case. It has a very comfortable strap too.

You said it already, the Luminor is great and I'll naturally go for it instead but you've said which you prefer most and to avoid future regrets, I say you go what you're fond of.

Since it's your first Panerai, I would personally go with a Luminor. The crown guard is so iconic and makes Panerai unique.

I own the 992 and it is great to wear and the looks are very strong. The 8 Day power reserve is also nice.

So to sum it up, If I must choose Radiomir, go with 992, ok, I was actually having a hard time deciding between 992 and 1243 (Eilean). Thank you all for your thoughts.

The 992 is a really nice Rad - the dial & blue hands are beautiful. Also love the case finish.

1243 for sure. Base Rad + wire lugs = perfect. The 1243 also has a nice connection to the Eilean. Brown dial and gold hands are great, too.

Panerai 112 for me is the best one for a newbie. Uncluttered sandwich dial, display case back, beautifully finished movement...all for $5,000 in mint condition. It doesn't get much better than this.
