Thanks, they are a 997H. The H stands for heritage. I got them at Journey’s in our local mall. Here’s the link:

This hobby leaves guys like me with fairly wide feet mostly out in the cold. I have read a few models are better than others but other than the Nike Air Monarch I am mostly relegated to New Balance Dad shoes.

https://stockx.com/air-jordan-1-low-true-blue
https://www.goat.com/sneakers/air-jo...ent-553558-412 you're not gonna have luck buying most pairs of jordans on the sites you listed past the release date. you need to use resell sites (stockx, goat, ebay) and models like these that are generally available will be very slightly above retail. jordans are released once on a date in whatever supply they decide on and then they move on to another colorway, and sometimes they'll do rereleases years down the road for popular models |

Can't help but laugh that my first post emerging from lurkdom on TRF is gonna be about sneakers and not watches lol.
Wanted to share today's fit and a pic of my collection but guess I can't do that til 10 posts *sigh*. The personal collection's currently sitting at around ~60 pairs, and I have another 2 or 3 dozen DS pairs sitting on ice, for street cred's sake some faves from the collection: the New Beginnings Pack Nike Air Ships, the Atmos Air Max 1 Animal 3.0 Tigers, Mars Yard Overshoes, Nike SB Frog Blazers, Pyer Moss Reebok Experiment 4 "Emergency", LASCO's "Veg Octobers" (bespoke Vachetta Air Yeezy 2's), Virgil-era LV Trainers with crinkled foil uppers, Nike x MMW Zoom 004, Dunk Low 6.0 DMC-12 DeLoreans, Asics GL3 Kobe Beef (feat. real Kobe cattle leather), Sacai Vaporwaffles, Vogalstand 1's (custom Rick Owens Megalace x Chicago AJ1 monstrosity), you get the idea haha. They've been an amazing way to branch out further in the world of fashion and an outlet to express myself in refreshing ways. And I've made some incredible friends along the way, in particular a group of 30 or so regulars from Reddit's weekly release thread decided to leave the platform for our own personal Discord, and we've been talking daily for the last 3 years helping each other score for retail, and shooting the shit about anything n everything. That amount of pairs might sound obscene to some, and this might be taboo, but between paying retail for raffle wins, meticulously scouring for bargains on worn grails, and a fair amount of reselling (to fund what I want, of course), I'm actually well "in the green" on this hobby accounting for profit and present equity. Wish I could say the same for watches hahaha… But I digress, wanted to post to share what I wish I could've told myself starting out for any of the newer folks: take your time in fleshing out a diverse and fulfilling collection. The manufactured hype cycle from big brands is incredibly hard to resist with new pairs announced literally every single day. And a fair amount of the pairs I jumped on in the early days get the least amount of wear. Gotta keep in mind there is an IMMENSE(!!) back-catalog of sneakers spanning decades. And like watches, tastes change as your understanding of what's out there grows, and yesteryear's pairs have innumerable grails. Spending some quality time (search filters are your friend in sorting by brand, model, price, etc) on eBay, StockX, Goat, Grailed and so on, or looking at Top 10 release lists for past years, can be an invaluable springboard to learn about the history or significance behind coveted colorways, collaborations, and brands. And since kicks cost money and take up space, you'll save yourself from turning your home into a Footlocker overnight as my girlfriend so affectionately sees it. The way I approach releases now, I'll enter for what I think is rad on SNKRS or Confirmed, but unless I'm foaming at the mouth I'll let the pair sit a while on display and see what else is on the horizon. The way I see it, if I don't end up toe'ing a pair after a certain amount of time in lieu of other obsessions or being happy with what I have, then copping was more an act of impulse and hype rather than something I really want in the collection and I'll sell or return it depending on where prices are at. Fun fact, Nike has an indefinite return policy for unworn pairs, just head over to a brick and mortar with a screenshot receipt, original payment method, and you're set. Once returned over a thousand dollars in pairs, over a year later, and no one batted an eye lol. One last thing to close out my monologue, if you see your fellow sneakerheads out in the wild, SAY SOMETHING!! I always make a point to and it's only ever been smiles when I've called models or colorways out by name or asked what they had on feet. Most recently a Costco employee in his late 50's wearing auto-lacing Adapt BB 2.0s approached me and asked what the hell I was walking around in (silver/"NASA" Jeremy Scott Wings 2.0) and if he could take a picture, instantly made my day haha. Cool. Cheers and thanks for keeping this thread alive JParm, it's been a pleasure seeing what TRF has on feet :) |

Very nice, 7sins!
These arrived today - the White Elephant 1's from 2016. I stumbled upon these on ebay for $100 pre-owned in my size and had to scoop; they're in great condition! I see them running for $500-600 on stockx and I like them WAY better than the upcoming darker elephant Jordan 1's. Just a super clean colorway, and the print has somewhat of a lighter blue hue to it. Switched it up to some baby blue laces that I purchased after ordering the J's, and I think it gives the shoes a nice pop of color...but not TOO loud! And let me add that my wife was so impressed with these that she said "wow - you can buy me a pair of those". Of course they had to be a pair that's a bit harder to find, haha. Hey, at least she's coming around, just like she did with Rolex! |

I gotta ask. Odds are low, but TRF is probably better chances than most other places.
