It's definitely happening....

The passed few years watch and even car enthusiasts have had to deal with luxury brands carrying certain stipulations and/or "waitlists" to be able to have the opportunity to purchase a timepiece and in the case of Mercedes Benz even a G63...

i'll have you know that in the last 2 weeks i've been courted by several Rolex Ad's to purchase solid gold watches, by Mercedes Benz because a G63 has suddenly become available and last but not least a certainly sought after Audemars Piguet 15510 Steel with an Olive dial after being ghosted by the company for 3 years (this i couldn't resist)

has anyone else experienced such "luck"?

I have been offered a YG Sky-Dweller and a WG Day Date (Olive Dial) in the past two weeks.

Not really. But finally ran into an AD that seemed genuinely interested about getting my business. Took down my top 3 pieces and resized my Daytona that I did not buy from them.

It's not happening until Sub or GMT is available at MSRP to a random shopper.

I see no changes. The cases are empty with nothing being offered. The ADs I talk to have full "lists" through this year's allocation, and it is just January.

No luck for me still on a call. And to top it off, I went to look at a Ram TRX this week and the dealership told me they have a 20k ADM on it still. Guess I keep waiting……for both.

I think that's pushing it a bit! The GMTs will be like the Daytona's going forward with the pepsi always being more desirable than the batman. Subs coming down nicely and should be <1 year wait for an enthusiast who can't flip at a profit. For most of, being able to get a PM Rolex that we want has been really difficult and now seems achievable with minimum or no wait. It's definitely changing in some areas.

Is this something we all cannot do for ourselves? I thought it required a screwdriver, a toothpick and common sense.

I read a similar thread a few days ago and though in this the OP was asked if he'll sell his watch. Don't know what's going on but whatever it is, I hope it's all positive.

ADs in Japan are empty. Yet the Chinese and Korean tourists recently allowed back in line up to go inside and see that there is nothing.

Yes I can feel it too. Let’s be honest cash is king and the economy is not so hot. You’re gonna see a lot of people starting to halt on purchases.

I bought a 2023 bmw s1000 RR. When I placed the order back in November they told me I’d be looking at mid June or later. Well the dealer just called me and told me the bike will be ready in march from Germany. Funny how that worked out…..

Since the start of 2023 things seem to have slowly changed.

Last several weeks i have walked past my AD and they have had maybe 10 pieces for sale.
TT Explorer 1, TT DateJust Wimbledon, YM 37, TT Sea-Dweller, DayDate YG, Sky-Dweller on Oysterflex and some Ladies DateJust's. Nothing amazing but its happening slowly.

steel subs and steel GMT’s will never be freely available in windows again.
Just my opinion.

Certainly gold subs and even TT subs could certainly hit display cases however

Is g63 actually going for retail these days? I remember looking into it about a year ago and they were going for 100k markup and decided I’ll never buy one at that rate. But at retail……

Another thread full of speculation and assumptions used to draw conclusions. Fun to read but not indicative of a worldwide market.

Welcome to the 'other side' of bubble. We've been here at least three times in the past couple of decades.

Richemont's ALS brand games they've been 'playing'... by forcing package deals is now going to come back in spades. Wait, as there's no need to rush out and buy a Richemont brand just yet.

Agree. I love ALS and will add one when they drop even lower.
