At Moda Watch Club on FB, I saw a lot of VC OS are selling at a very minimum premium to MSRP, almost the same with MSRP + Tax, so no need to wait at ADs.

These will be very tempting once they reach MSRP or below.

The silver/white is already below. The black needs some negotiation (year, condition, completeness etc). Blue is still slightly above (asking)

Very early on in the thread someone asked a question regarding the differences between the earlier caliber 5100 movement and the late 2018 onwards caliber 5100/1 movement.

Question: the movement says 5100/1. Online photos I've looked at just say 5100 so I guess the movement was updated at some point.

Anyone know what the update was?

New

Old

Thanks!
JP
They got a reply talking about the 5100/1 movement being more efficient, but does anyone know exactly what that means? More efficient in terms of sharing parts with the 5110 or more efficient in terms of utilizing the balance wheel?

If you look at the bridge architecture to the left of the balance wheel, you’ll see the difference against earlier movements of the same series fairly clearly.

Very hard to find any info on this online because the movement on the Quai de l'Île is erroneously referred to as 5100/1 on most sources even though it's also marked as 5100. Thanks in advance to anyone who knows anything about these minor running changes.

Not sure where you’re located, but if you’re in the New York area, Steve is very reputable and fair

Thank you so much, I am in Texas.

I will look into it. My spouse want me to wait and see how is MODA's price on this item.

Thank you! I did pick up the orange strap to make it official lol.

Glad I was able to help with the pin insert thingy.

I haven’t had the chance to take it out for some photos, hopefully soon. The blue changes so much in different lighting conditions.

These are trading at around retail on moda. Even the blue 7900V was at $1000 above retail price and went unsold for 1 month on moda. I think all models will trade under retail within 2 months

I’m not a VC owner (yet) but have been looking at the gen 2 chronos. Is there a reason they are so much cheaper than the current line up? I’m my opinion, the gen 2 had better proportions but I can’t really find any objective info on why they are so much cheaper thanks!

Gen 3 was updated with an in house movement with exhibition caseback. It also added the quick change straps.

I agree they are awesome and a relative bargain. Outsized date is really nice and there's even a guilloché dial running around in white in that series.
