Awesome, BP bracelet is so nice. Hope to get a positive response for the 70s anniversary edition with respect to the bracelet.

My SA there is a great guy. The pin and collars fixed my biggest complaint of the bracelet, the gap when using aftermarket spring bars. Still wish it had micro adjustments tho!

I will say, putting the MilSpec back on the bracelet reminds me why I don’t need to new Act I 70th. Lame they made it 21.5mm L2L thus killing the option to add a bracelet. The FF looks killer on the x71.
I'm glad the boutique stepped up and that there's no longer a gap with your bracelet. I reached out to two ADs, and both said they would have trouble getting the bracelet, didn't know about the pins and collars, and wouldn't discount it, so you're fortunate there. I too wish the bracelet had a glidelock-type clasp but, fortunately, I was able to get a perfect fit. At least there are half-links. Regardless, I really do think the bracelet is the way to go with these watches.

I still kept my order, I think the 42mm case seize and better movement make this one the best LE release so far.

I have asked about a bracelet option and if it is possible to order separately. Will post here what the reply is.

I just got the reply from BP stating that there is no Bracelet option for this 70s anniversary.

I think, if we’re patient, there will be pleasant surprises around the corner.

Late last week I got a call offering the Act 1. I'm a hard pass but posting in case anyone missed the launch shenanigans and still wants the piece. Sounds like the extras are getting divyed out amongst a few boutiques.

So I guess Blancpain screwed up so much that they couldn't sell 70 limited edition watches online throughout north America?

Yup, I was offered one last week from the boutique as well. Declined and holding out for Act 2, hoping it's a 40mm...

I think the slow sell-out comes down to both the price and the way it was released.

IMO the watch is beautiful, but ~25% price inflation over the most recent 40mm LE models just feels too steep. Of course you can compare it to what other brands offer at the same price point and the value proposition is definitely there, but strictly looking at the brand's pricing, it was just a turn off for me. The watch will probably hold its value, or come close to it, but with the overall market climate and all the other incomings I am still waiting for, it was enough to easily sway my decision.

And as to how it was released - a lot of people gave up when they initially saw it was not available. If they had given the specs of the watch the day before and then launched it as first come, first served (ie paid for), it probably would have sold out quicker and they would not be in the position they are currently in.

Exactly, this release was executed in a chaotic fashion, and without any prior information whatsoever aside from small teaser. The price was definitely a factor for the poor release but more so the lack of a bracelet. If in that 25% price increase they had provided a bracelet many more people would decide to buy. It was a missed opportunity for the 70s anniversary. I hope they find a way to fix this or make it up for the people who purchased. 21.5mm lugs? Literally no bracelet option whatsoever.
And we still don't know the full release details.
As a purchaser I am not sure that I made the right decision, and I will reserve my judgment until I get the watch.
Hope that the watch will make up for this.

In reference to the price, it did seem expensive but compared to the other 40mm LE (which all sell at a premium) it is a larger case and a better movement They also mostly all came on NATO I believe? . Also, it is basically priced the same as the OCIII- 40mm with 1150 movement.

Seems in line with their recent pricing but still expensive for a dive watch on a NATO.

I care more about the execution than the price in this instance. I would have paid 20k if it was what I was looking for and wouldn’t have bought this if it was 12k.

With you on this, and based on Act 1 my expectations aren't very high for what's to come. Although I remain hopeful because there's so much potential here with this brand. Why is this so hard for them!

Received the official pre-order letter. I’m looking forward to receiving and wearing mine. Despite some of the negativity, there won’t be an issue moving all 210.

The preorder certificate is odd. I was fine with my order receipt.

Not in the pool or the ocean. Well, maybe I should to test the 30m rating. ;-)

Never heard of a preorder certificate. I also received only the order receipt when I initially purchased it. Nothing after that. Strange that they would send this to some and not others.

Probably an attempt to retain buyers. I wonder if they had a bunch of cancellations.

I thought it was a nice touch, and better than remaining silent until a package showed up at the door.

I thought it was odd receiving it. Was hoping they'd provide a preview of the contents of the box.

Could you share the "official pre-order certificate"? You can hide your personal info. I am curious now as I didn't receive one :)
