Monta Skyquest
Anyone have one of these? I'd love to hear some reviews.
I really like the look of the gilt accents on the dial and bezel. And the dimensions sound great on paper. Just wondering how the build quality is on the bracelet and clasp. TIA

I’ve had my Skyquest with the coke bezel for a little over a month and I’m really enjoying it. Excellent build quality all around and the bracelet/clasp is one of the best I’ve come across. I bounce between the Skyquest and a 124060.

I have the black-bezel Skyquest and I really appreciate it! The bracelet is very nice and comfortable and the micro-adjustment clasp works great. I wear it a ton. I’ve seen the blue/red with the gold accents in person and I think it looks even better than in the pictures.
I’m very happy I picked it up. Here’s my “incoming” thread if you want more details: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=883642 |

Hmm...not sure about paying Aus$3600 fo a watch with a base ETA 2893-2 or the cloned Sellita SW330-1 movement.

The movement is the updated Sellita SW330-2 with the improved power reserve (56 hours) and the snappy GMT function. It’s a workhorse movement. They have a blog post on their website about how they ended up with Sellita 3xx movements: https://montawatch.com/blogs/news/monta-movement |

Not sure if GolfJunkie ever pulled the trigger on the Monta Skyquest but here’s a recent review:

Here’s another recent Skyquest review. Mine is still getting a disproportionate amount of wrist time. I would buy it again with no reservations!

Just purchased a Skyquest coke bezel and am pleasantly surprised by how well it wears. It feels lighter and wears better than my Tudor BB Pro. Finishing is excellent and my watch runs roughly +-2 sec a day. I also feel kind of cool to wear a brand that isn't well known, but still produces high-quality pieces.
A criticism of Monta is their prices compared to say Christopher Ward. Aside from a level of finishing that rivals even brands like Tudor, I think the premium is also evident in their bracelets. When I wear it, I get the feeling of Rolex Oyster quality. |
