Frankly, if that little ding bothered me that much (it wouldn’t) I would have it fixed in Clearwater and sell it - buying a watch that I would not worry about.

I love the nicks and dings on my Tudor Submariner. However, that is not the feeling all have about scratches, etc. I hope you do what makes you happy.

The first few scratches and dings were the worst, now I never notice them anymore. This photo was about a year and half ago. Watch has been my daily wearer for over 4 years and travelled with me all over, so no doubt accumulated more since then.

Will have to take some new photos at some point !

These should seriously all be black ceramic (bezel) on the diver. I’d swap mine in a heartbeat if it were an option.

Damn. My APs that I have worn almost every day for years (up until covid since I don't go into the office so don't wear them as much anymore) don't even look close to this. This is just abuse . You really are carefree wearing it.

OP I understand where you are coming from. I'm OCD about scratches and stuff on my watches as well. I don't necessarily agree with some to just let it get all beat up. If after a week or so it really bothers you just send it to clearwater and have them fix it. They are able to work magic on these watches. If you are able to wait till it needs service to have it fixed probably better, since as people have said chances are high it'll get more marks.

Love it - I consider any steel tool watch without heavy dings & scratches entirely over-cuddled & boring. The RO takes its very name from nautical vessels, and in its unique shape, tips the hat at old diving suits, when diving was substantially more dangerous than today. And people fear that their baby got scratched

Might be off topic but wouldn’t a ceramic bezel get nicked like that also and maybe even shatter upon similar force of impact?

#3 Live with it. It won't be your last ding trust me. Then after a while when it's all beat up, send it in for service and you'll get a brand new watch after

Sorry that's a bad one. Getting it fixed is a nice way to start fresh

Yes ceramic would definitely be more likely to crack vs just dent/scratch.

This is for me an advantage of steel vs ceramic, even if the ceramic bezels do look incredible.

I would wait, this won't be the first and last time you're adding dents to the bezel. Now you can be a little less careful about it and replace the bezel when you've accumulated more wear and tear. That's nothing.

I would just live with it. You can always replace the bezel in the future during service time. The dent doesn't seem to large.

I agree with many others here. I bought a ceramic bezel ROO and while it doesn’t get dinged I haven’t enjoyed it as much as my ROC which has small scratches etc and they don’t bother me considering I wear it a lot and like you, I tend to keep it. I say don’t think about it for a while and you’ll probably get over it.

Must indeed be hard for you to witness this. And in the end, it is what you can live with. The ROO is a hefty watch and I can imagine there would be more to come. The pragmatic side of me share the same sentiment above.

Surprisingly not expensive relatively speaking for a new bezel part.
How much was the replacement bezel from clearwater? Curious because my steel bezel is also pretty dinged up.

Clearwater told me they do not laser weld any parts unless new are not available or it is a historical piece. They would replace the bezel only.

Thanks everyone for the advice. After two weeks, I still feel bummed about the dent, but will likely wait until the first service to do a replacement. I agree I will likely bang it up so more.

i emailed Clearwater to gauge how much it would be to replace or fix….no response yet

Definitely wait and enjoy wearing it...... If you replace the bezel now, it may just happen again.

You can never be too careful when it comes to watches. Enjoy the watch and take care of it at the right time.
