Costco ought to have you on the payroll.

Nice image but inaccurate; you can pay using debit cards at Costco.

My retirement job; I get your point however.

Yeah, that was my Kayak and it was returned late because of the laziness of a Costco employee at the store it was bought from. They told me it couldn't be returned. When I moved to MA the store here informed me during discussion that the other employee had acted inappropriately and did the return seven years after it should have been taken back. What's your problem with that. If I'd known better I'd have spoken to the manager of the Bend Oregon store where I bought the Kayak ad called them on it. We were in the middle of moving back east; the kayak made the trip on the van.

It isn't a problem no matter what. No one is forced to participate in a thread. Anyone in the thread is a willing participant and has no reason to complain that the thread exists. If they don't want to read it they can scroll on by.
But to be fair Lee this was the post you put up.

Costco is great to deal with. I returned a 12 y/o beat to hell kayak there this summer for a full refund. Purchased a new one the same day for $25 more. They are true to their work when it comes to returns. Just not on electronics; only a three month return policy.

As 'that particular person' this was not acceptable to me and an exploitation of Cosco's return policy.

There was no information in this post that gave me any transaction history or information that you had tried to return it after 'only' two years.

My SINCERE apologies if you though I responded badly.

Nope, not you iirc unless you were the one who kept bringing it up time after time and hounding me about it. I think that sometimes it's better to accept people as having good intents as opposed to looking for ways to condemn them. Like I said here, there was a reason I didn't give the whole story. In 22 years I've had a couple of negative experiences with Costco which I'd prefer not to mention for the sake of not highlighting trivia in light of their stellar performance. One was outed in this thread.

At my local Costco I've seen mostly Datejusts. A black 116200, a silver 116200, a white 116233 for $8700 and a blue 116400GV. I think the Milgauss was $6800. Probably should've picked it up for that price. Wouldn't have lost much if anything but it sold within a week. Right now they just have a JLC chrono which they will have a really hard time selling just like an Aqua Terra priced at $3900 that took them almost a year to sell.

While their prices are standard GM prices, it is possible to find a deal here and there. Unfortunately I doubt they'll bring coveted sports models to my location in NYC. I also noticed that the longer they have the watch in stock, the more they tend to be mishandled. The TT DJ was pristine when I first saw it but after a couple of months of people trying it on, not so much. So if you find a watch you like there pick it up as soon as possible. Of course forget about any warranty. I would rather take it to an RSC before I would let them service the watch who knows where. Although for the most part, new Rolex are problem free.

If you check for Costco website, you will find some AP, Rolex, Omega, and Cartier now. There are selling the gold Skydweller for $28K and gold AP Royal Oak for $38K, around others.

It's true, a penny under $63,000. Now if I bought that from an AD I'd likely have a life time of good will.

Damn, for $63,000 and it sold in a day? I bet that would piss off a lot of ADs who are sitting with one and would be eager to whisper "I can it you $12,000.01 off today!"

I bought a DJ 36 TT at Costco in April - I brought it back two weeks ago and they took it back no questions asked. I picked up the DJ41 they had in the case that same day. No drama - Carefree buying.

Wow, Rolex at Costco. The best watch I've ever seen at Costco so far has been an Omega Constellation.

I wonder what Costco does with returned Rolexes...

I too wonder the same. Before they took my return, they went to the back to check if serial #s matched. Not knowing the serial was on rehaut they removed bracelet with whatever they had on hand. The lugs were completely mangled.... Oops.

Yeah, I don’t get it either. It is basically just another gray market dealer.

There's no Costco in my country but the deals I see listed here are mind blowing, including original discounts and cashbacks on cards. The US really have a much more competitive market than Europe. This is not the land of freebies.

They had two of them at my location. Women's models with diamond dials. What's crazy is that one was cheaper than the other and were identical. I didn't see any sort of blemish that just justify any difference. $8400 and $8900 or something like that. I think they still have both of them. They also had a 28mm Lady DJ which took some time to sell but it did. Omega is just not as easy to sell as Rolex even at a discount.

Yeah seriously. If anyone is spending mid to high 5 figures for a watch please do yourself a favor and buy it from an AD. I'm sure you can negotiate a discount off of that $75k retail price and with that purchase you will definitely be rewarded by being offered the stuff everyone wants in the future especially at a smaller AD.

Quick question for those familiar with Platonas: Does every Platona have the frosted clasp or are newer ones polished like the majority of new Rolex? I tried on a Platona at Wempe's boutique in Frankfurt's airport and it had the frosted clasp. Just want to get an idea of the turnover for them at full price and whether that watch had come in recently or had been sitting there for a while.
