not a fan of this Patek. Actually, not a Patek fan at all. Too dressy for me.

I can't swallow the pricing on the Aquanaut for what you get. There's nothing particular special about the movement, the rubber strap is, well, rubber, the hands and font used for the numbers are cheesy, and there's no historical angle like there is for the Nautilus.

I vote DD.

I'm counting on it.

In all seriousness, the DD shows age very well with its fluted bezel and president bracelet. As long as you wear the bracelet with a proper fit and keep it clean, it should last for many years.

The Aquanaut is a a PP watch which does nothing for me. I simply don't see the appeal.
The DD on a President has a whole lot of pedigree and is the signature of the brand.

Rolex gets my vote. I believe its more robust, easier to live with and easier to service down the road.

True, but doing a long haul to pick up the 5167 may not be worth it. Although I do know how much you love your PMs

I don't love the DD in white gold, would much prefer rose gold or better yet the iconic yellow gold. A YG DayDate with that President bracelet, that's an all time classic Rolex right there, how the watch was originally 'meant' to be.

Completely understand and you’re the only one that pointed to the fact that I would have to take a long haul flight to get it. That is the real kicker

We travel, so the dual time is excellent with the annual calender function.

Agree!

Well, er, um... am a bit blushing as have a DD40 RG here. Wife and her daughter said the bling dial was the best and so... Of course in the end what really matters is that you.... enjoy your time

Every time I see the RG I am amazed by it. But I want my potential DD to be almost a daily wearer. In that case, it’s much more versatile with WG

Nice! Always great to hear others who have owned one. This will be my first PM. I’m fairly careful with my watches, but does the DD dent or scratch really easily?

Thank you for your thoughts, the green under the different conditions is truly alluring. I have a LVc so love how the green plays with the light

I also have a BLNR I’m quite attached to. Felt like that fills my travel watch role. And the 5164 is pricey for what it is, kinda like the 5167

You get long more bang for buck w/ DD. Having own 5167 for last 8 months, it is something special which is hard to describe (simplicity/craftsmanship/dial). My take.

Last time I went to my AD to pick up a watch , I tried the WG with blue dial and the RG with green dial, both are awesome, I'd take the DD over the Patek.

In those pictures the DD looks awfully nice, and fits way better with the clothes, but I love the 5167, and would have a really hard time parting with it unless it was an upgrade to the 5711.

As someone who has both, my DD40 RG Olive is getting WAY MORE wrist time since its acquisition last month.

That DD option is one of my favourite Rolex ever. Love that green dial, understated WG, the weight, and those deconstructed roman numerals...wow.

I like some PP's, but that aquanaut ain't one of 'em. I'm sure it's beautiful in person, but in every picture I've ever seen, it's so ordinary looking it may as well be a Citizen. And that strap offends my retinas.

I honestly can say that for me this is a complete no brainer, DD all day every day, and twice on Sunday. Of course, it's your tastes that matter here not mine.

I agree with most here, that DD is beautiful and iconic.

Looking at your collection I can see going Patek, but Nautilus would be my choice.

I'd choose the DD over the Aquanaut.

I seem to disagree with pretty much everyone on here. When I saw the Aquanaut on a guy’s wrist (and he let me try it on) it was on another level. Like all of these watches unless you’ve seen them on the wrist you really haven’t seen them.
The Aquanaut was so balanced and clear, and robust as well. I guess my final offering is that they’re very different watches no? The Aquanaut struck me as an ultra high end tool watch, a PM DD isn’t that.
