If you venture to department stores you'll see the Michael Kors line all in bright shiny gold coloring. People will likely ask you if you are wearing one of his. No problem with gold. So many gold toned watches out there.

I feel like 27 and YG fits just fine. It's also the best Michael Kors homage you can sport on you wrist. :)

I understand the worry about being ”too young” to have certain status. But money moves differently in today’s world, and there is a lot of it. And getting big in todays business has a lot more to do with luck and many times luck only. Few decades ago you had certain steps to climb and you could make it. Now you can reach huge crowds without gatekeepers in very very little time. So that allows money to spread not being so dependant of the age. Also money is not valued that much any more, free time has often higher value in researchs made.

But anyway, i have not had any PM watch yet and i am way under 40. But as i have been lucky i have had other status things since i was 26 etc. It gives ’oh you have rich daddy’ image but i did not care as i left my home with under 100 dollars (currency converted) when i was 18.

Just wear and buy what you like. When you have it, people around start to get used to that you wear gold Rolex, drive nice cars etc. It is nothing bigger than that nowadays. If you are nice guy, people just start to think you have earned it. Quite simple actually.

It's funny you say that. My wife (41) has a rose gold DD and doesn't really worry about wearing it for that very reason.

How I wish I was under 40 , I would have confidently wore this with pride in my twenties if only I could have afforded one then . Wear it with pride whatever age you are ,99.99% of people won't even give it a second glance .

I'm not a huge fan of a full colored gold bracelet for younger guys, but it's mainly an image thing. However, there are some interesting compromises...for instance, my OF YG daytona is my go to wear daily now and I LOVE the pops of gold with it but at the same time being a little toned down with the rubber/elastomer strap. FWIW I'm in that young bracket.

Silver colored watches and jewelry were the style. Nowadays I'm seeing more and more young people wearing yg. So I think it's coming back into style for the younger crowd. For me....it was always the style. Just turned 37

I'm 52 but feel like 35 if I wear my YG Sub
So, I think if you are ready for YG, do it

Not an issue. YG is awesome. If you can afford it, then do it. Age makes no difference in my opinion. You make the watch, the watch does not make you.

Been proudly wearing these before I turned forty. Still have them and wear them daily.

Hi,

If you ask this question here, it seems to me that you don't feel comfortable with a gold Rolex. And I know what it is, I had a two tone Datejust that I sold because I didn't feel comfortable with the gold. It was too 'jewel-like'. And not what a Rolex IMHO should be: a tool/sports watch.

And that is what it is, if you wear a gold Rolex, you were a jewel and not a tool/sports watch anymore. So if you have doubts, i'd say don't do it. But follow your instincts because it could be possible that you wear a gold Rolex and as time goes by you won't care anymore about what anyone says and you will be happy that you bought it.

I't true that 'in theory' a steel Rolex as also very precious and a status symbol. But its very different from a golden watch. Maybe I change my opinion when I get older, i'm 32 at the moment, but for me a golden Rolex is just too much. And its not because what other think of it, but it doesn't go with my character, a golden Rolex is not humble enough.

Besides that, I admit that they do look fabulous indeed! No question about that. I really admire a blue/gold Submariner. But man, that is a piece of jewelry.

I wore YG more when I was under 30. I still have them other than the GMT.

They are fun and get a bunch of attention, but eventually you get a bit tired of it
