$25k Budget - what watch would you add to this group?

I have nothing to suggest, except my thoughts on:

If i were to buy a big ticket watch ($25k is big ticket to me), i would want it to be new. I have no problem with cars or motorcycles or lower ticket watches 10k-ish to be used, but a higher end watch that might stay in family forever must be new. If the new watch i really like is above $25k, i would sacrifice one of the other SS watches to get it.

Also, i think it was killyung (sp?) that said in a thread which was an eye opener for me: you get the best bang for the buck in PM department from Rolex.

Based on these two, i would go with a new 116618 or 116718.

Cant wait to see what you end up getting.

Just looking at Costco's website; there's a nice gold SkyD for $28K backed by their life time return policy. It's yellow gold, white dial, roman with a leather strap. The Rose Gold is $2K more. But I'm certain you could get a used one for under $25K.

The image is from Joma.

I would go with the YG Submariner. The 116618LB is great but I went 116618LN and could not be more pleased.

Changing my vote. With that budget in mind, I would add a 41 mm Stainless Steel Datejust to your collection and use the remaining funds to do something nice for your family, loved ones, or charity. Just because you have a 25K budget does not mean that you have to use it all on the watch.

You have basically 2 options:

PM Rolex or Haute Horology

PM Rolex: WG/YG Sub, DD40, PM Daytona OF

Haute: 5167, ALS 1815, Lange 1, FP Journe, AP ROO

IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar in 18K White Gold

It fits your budget and would bring nice complication variety. Some for sale here in TRF as well.

AP 44mm Ti, or a Patek 5164 imo!

or save a little more and get a Patek 5396 if you want something dressier. I think they can be had for ~28-30k

SkyD with a white or champagne dial. If you didn’t already have a Daytona, I’ll also suggest 116519LN.

116618LB or you would have several options for a nice dress watch if you need one. PP Calatrava creme dial in YG or RG would fit in nicely and leave you money to spare. ALS has some nice options too in that range.
