Day-Date owners, is the President bracelett comfortable?
Still way in my fantassy world, I will someday buy a WG DayDate, at first I thought a white face but have recently been leaning towards the silver, I like the stick indices and the fact that it has luminova, to read in the dark. Here is my question to you owners:
How comfortable is the bracelet? I currently have the DJ 41, and before that the EXII 42, both have the 5 mm adjustable oyster bracelet. I often am adjusting it, open and closed. I don’t know if it’s due to temperature, or humidity, or maybe my body just expands and contracts a lot. Anyway, if any of you owners previously had the adjustable band, do you find you miss it? In general how comfortable (as compared to the Oyster or Jubilee) do you find the President? Some day... I keep telling myself, some day I’ll get that WG DD |

EXTREMELY comfortable! Yes, a micro adjustment would be nice, but no deal breaker. It is THE PRSIDENT. Love it.

With the President bracelet you probably have to compromise so that a good fit will work for you in hot and cold conditions.
If needed there is a 1 1/2 link available which can make all the difference. Trial and error to figure out the best configuration. I use a Super Jubilee for which I bought a 1 1/4 link to achieve an optimum fit and this bracelet I find more comfortable than any other. The Oyster gives me the most secure feeling, it wears "sturdier" than the President or Jubilee. Bomb proof. My President and SJ sometimes open when I put a lot of strain on my wrist (chopping firewood) and these types are not really suitable when doing some physical jobs around the house in my experience. Lack of a quick adjustment feature on the President or SJ does not bother me. The hidden clasp and the beautiful looks of both compensate that easily. I find the allure of the DD is for the greater part in the President bracelet and wearing this combination is always something special. For me it should be in yellow or red gold. I do like very much WG or Pt but for a DD not so much. Just my

Well you ain't gonna be adjusting the prezzie bracelet. No adjustment. Add or remove link is it. Too loose in winter? Take apart bracelet and remove link. Too tight in summer or on warm climate vacation? Take apart bracelet again and add link. When it's sized right, it's plenty comfortable. I say be happy with what you have now and don't listen to the anxiety-ridden enablers with too much of their psych tied up in their watches or "brands".

I am in the other camp... had a 118238 for over a year, and could never get the bracelet correct for me. I also searched high and low for one of those phantom half links, mentioned above, but no AD or any sellers here, could source me one.
Hopefully Paul, your wrist will not be the in between size like mine was. I miss it too |

I got rid of it because of its weight combined with the lack of flexibility.
I had the DD2 and the DD41. For me, I just needed a little bit more space, or a little less depending on the day. I tried really hard with them both because I absolutely love the look and styling. The DJ41 with the jubilee ended up being a much better option for me. In a lot of ways.

My DD40 on President is more comfortable than my DD36 ever was.
And just to correct what’s been said you can get 11/4 links not 11/2. I still have 2 x 1/14 links from my YG DD36 that I traded in.

I've only tried it on a few times at my local AD. They have had a couple different gold examples recently and they seem to fit me perfectly and they are very comfortable. I have a 7.5" wrist.
This is the one I tried on yesterday. Please don't buy it though or I'll be jealous. ;) |

The bracelet is extremely comfortable especially when properly fitted which is something you'll want to do anyway to avoid "stretch" no matter if it's an older 18238, 118238 or 218238. The watch is very well balanced that the additional weight of the gold doesn't cause any sort of fatigue. To me the Day Date is Rolex at its finest. I have always looked at it as the flagship just like what the S Class represents for Mercedes. The bracelet design is really a work of art, the dial is classic Rolex and the fluted bezel completes the iconic, classic look. While neither are the most expensive models offered by either company, they are both true luxury products.

Ive had only 1 other bracelet that was more comfortable - a TT Jubilee on a Root Beer GMT from the ‘80’s. My old RG DD president was 2nd on the comfy scale - but if you never wore solid gold I will say it feels heavy.
If you will be wearing your DD daily, in a week or so you won’t notice it. But it is heavier than any SS short of a DSSD. Sent from my iPhoneX using Tapatalk

I would submit that the feeling of a PM bracelet is remarkable... You initially feel the coolness of the metal. Then, as it warms to your skin, it disappears. All is one. NO weight, No sound, the links wrap perfectly around your wrist...just Rolex perfection.

DD40 Everose feels like you're wearing the finest Italian silk.
Ok, not really, yet she is extremely comfortable given the weight.

Took some work but I finally did get the bracelet linked to fit the way I wanted. This was on an 18038 so a few years back. At times I found it extremely comfortable, but other times not so much. I learned to keep it a touch loose for wrist swell.
I am surprised that Rolex had not done something with the clasp to offer adjustments like they have in other models. Maybe someday.

The DJ41 jubilee is super comfy, but the DD40 is in another league. It feels exquisite on the wrist.
Now, the lack of adjustment is the major downside. But...there is a 1.25 link available which is what I used to get that perfect fit. Expensive, yes, but oh so worth it. And...you may not even need it. So, all things considered, I'd have to say...go for it! |

I find my DD bracelet very comfortable. I have very flat writs so I can leave a little room to breathe and it still sits perfect on my wrist. The finish inside the bracelet is fantastic and smooth and the way the circular links form around the wrist is a dream. The president bracelet really is design excellence and an icon IMO.
