116519 or 116515 or back to the 116500.
I went to my local AD and tried on the 116519 the other day. They offered to discount it 5%. My regular AD is willing to give me a 10% and ship it out of state.
The 116519 is a nice watch but the sub dials are kind of hard to read for my eyes. I have tried on the 116515 in the past and I thought it was a beautiful watch. I sold my white dial with the intent of upgrading to a Daytona PM but now I’m thinking the white dial 116500 was the most legible Daytona for me and maybe I made a mistake. My AD told me they are now going down their SS Daytona list if you have bought 4 watches from them. So here are my options: Get the 116519 from my local AD now with no wait and get 5% discount and pay 9.25% tax Buy Daytona OF from my normal AD and get 10% discount with no tax but wait 3-6 months Buy a white Daytona at SRP but wait another 1 plus years. Here are pics of all 3 watches on my wrist The “in-watch” right now with the panda dial is very retro Stunning watch but really think the discounted model with the leather band is more elegant but the OF version is more sporty Bang for the buck and most legible Daytona Current 6 digit collection The OF Daytona’s are really comfortable but mentally I don’t know if i can justify paying 26k for a watch on a rubber band. I like the white Daytona the best. I would wait. Hopefully it arrives sooner than expected.

I’m in the exact same predicament actually! Lol. Glad you posted this. I LOVE the look and feel of the Oysterflex, so I’d stick to one of those too, but the rose gold just looks more special. The WG, as always looks stainless, and the grey dial doesn’t pop as much for me. The RG 116515 is the winner for me!
I’d never pay tax on a $20k+ watch. And if it’s PM, needs a minimum of 10% discount plus no tax if paying cash. Thoughts? |

Joking aside, no worthy input from my side. I love the 116519 dial and find it superior to the SS model dials. I would jump at the chance.

Had the 116519 and sold it. Have the 116500 white dial and still is my go-to watch on a daily basis! The white dial is great!

I get that rubber is a bit of a stumbling block when you are used to bracelets but many AP and PP models are best served by far on rubber straps so you get over it, plus the Rolex SS bracelet is cheap as chips so going rubber makes no difference there really, only psychologically. And the OF is a titanium bracelet covered in rubber so no issue there either.

If legibility is your primary concern the white dual 500 is the way to go IMO

If you are going to go PM I would go with a bracelet model. The WG with the blue dial on the bracelet or the WG with the silver dial and dark sub dials would be where I would be. I would not buy a PM that I did not want or would keep the get the SS Daytona-C.

Rubber is more expensive than stainless steel!
Work on that psychological hurdle because the WG on OF is a stunning looking watch. |

Why do I keep seeing in threads that they are changing the sub and Daytona to a 42mm. Is this just another one of those roomers or is it likely to happen?

I'd go for the 500C and buy a RubberB band for it if I wanted a rubber strap.

I have a 116500 and a 116519 and the 519 is different gravy! The 515 is lovely but have a feeling I would go off it eventually S For me it would be an easy decision, the 519.

As much as I like the 515, I'd go for a white metal. I guess you need to decide if the improved legibility of the 500 is the most important factor for you. All I can say is watches are an emotional purchase, go for your favourite and don't try to rationalise too much.

I have a problem with the Daytonas on OF because you can’t swap out straps the end link is part of the watch. So if you were inclined to say put a different rubber color, or nato, or leather .. you’re screwed
I’d go with 500 ( i have the 500 ) Besides the end link issue I just love the 500 white look more Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Wishful thinking on my part. The same kind that brought us the steel ceramic Pepsi and a "larger Sub", the SD43.

MSRP wise....I'd pick the 116500....but you'd have to wait a year.....I'm not sure how precious time is to you there......the 116519 for 10% off now would be pretty appealing to me as it's a great dial I love.

There is about $9k price difference (MSRP as per Rolex website) between gold bracelet and oyster flex models. There isn't 220 grams of gold in that bracelet.
If you like the 116519, I say go for it.
