Ultra Rare DayDate
Hey guys,
My friend posted this picture on Instagram of what he says is an ultra rare DayDate that was purchased sometime in the 1970s. I personally have never seen one like this, and what makes it so rare, is that the days are written in Arabic. As a Kuwaiti, I find this to be really fascinating! Has anyone seen one like this before, or may have any info about this watch? |

Yes it's a rare DD but not because the Arabic text but rather the green dial and bracelet center links.

No Rolex is rare just some made in smaller numbers especially with that type of Stella dial I would say is from the very late 1970s early 1980s,and Rolex have around 30 options of different language on the DD range .

Again what makes this very desirable watch is the Stella dial. Very nice watch and looks to be from 70's based on dial IMHO. Cheers,
PS. As for ultra rare Rolex---This isn't one of them. Ultra rare you are talking DRSD MK1 PP, 5517 and A/6538 Milsubs, 6200 BC, 3-6-9 Exp dial BC's and Subs, etc etc not a DD.

Most Stella dials were destroyed due to poor sales. So I have heard.

Nice Stella dial, day dates come with a day wheel in many languages. It's a 1806 "Morellis" or some call it "Florentine" this refers to the unusual finish on the bezel and centre links.
