Forum time inconsistencies?

Hi,

Currently it's approx 9:00 am 9/Mar/08. The forum said my last visit was at 09:15am "Today". The latest posts were from 09:53am "Today". Which "Today" would this be? Looks to me the forum (server) time is ahead by 1 hour?

Good point, I'll see what can be done.
My guess is that the server clock has automatically adjusted to the change of daylight savings or the end thereof in it's geographical location, and that is having some kind of effect on the time shown.
However, I do not know for sure at this time (pardon the pun)

Thanks. I just want to check if others are seeing the same issue, or maybe it's my machine's problem.

What's the betting that it has something to do with the fact the USA have the "daylight saving time" 1 hour jump on the 9/3/2008.

The server is in the USA, after all.

All our different "header time" (the one in red at the top) times reflect our local PC clock time. The software would have an algorithm to maintain a central core time plus the secondary ability to flag posts against our respective "local pc time".

Thus we all see meaningful date/timestamps against all posts. My sticky posts are identical to your but show different date/times since I am in a different timezone to you.

Bottom line is it will sort itself out by Monday or the next time you restart the PC.

I've done some more research on this with other forum sites hosted using vBulletin.

1. www.guildwarsguru.com/forum - this is a US based site and it's showing the same issue here.
2. www.pprune.org/forums - this is a UK based site and it's not showing the issue I encountered.

So yes I suppose the issue is with servers in US with their daylight savings time, and it's probably a vBulletin bug.

I have since changed my user CP -> edit Options :
from: GMT+10 (Eastern Australia)
to: GMT+9 (Tokyo)
with automatic daylight savings detection.

Now the times are displayed correctly. I hope this is only an issue for 1-2 weeks until we (Aussies) go to our standard time

Just an update. It's all back to normal again. Steve have you done something to the server?

The clock at the top of the page is correct, but the time You last visited is not reflecting Daylight savings time. It's an hour slow.
