Using pics of different watches is definitely shady.
Hope you get your money back.
Would not take money for problems you can readily see. Who know what else is wrong with the watch?

And they had pictures of the actual watch showing the damage all along !
He does seem a decent guy though and I'm hopeful he will make this right.
I have to say I've bought 2 watches from him previously a couple of years ago and all went well, but they were brand new and not used
Before you go ruining his reputation, I'd focus on getting a refund first. The more you beat him up publicly, the less likely he will be willing to work with you. Try and settle this privately first and then you can post a review and let him defend. My thoughts, take them for what they are worth.

Stop fucking crying jerk off. I know Jaap and he probably mixed up two watches. I also know that he probably offered you a full refund as he does with all his unstatisfied customers. So did he offer you a full refund or not?

And if you want absolute mint condition you should by new.

"So Precisionwatches.nl photoshops his pictures".

I rarely post here (just read), but this topic had me triggered. I've bought watches from Jaap and so did a lot of (watch) friends. A standup guy who seem to have made a mistake by not looking careful enough at one of his watches.

However, I hate to see a good dealer being pissed at in a topic title like this. Knowing Jaap a bit, he probably doesn't even have Photoshop or any other photo editing software. He probably mixed up photos as he had another similar Sub for sale as well, as I've read. He is a dealer and many watches go through his hands. This doesn't justify the mistake, but it is just an explanation of why this could have happened.

My advice would be to get a full refund and send him the watch back. For you, the watch is contaminated, no matter if you have it repaired or serviced, and he has an unhappy customer (and getting his otherwise clean reputation smudged on a forum). So give each other's stuff back and move on. Get a new watch from somewhere else and let him have the watched fixed/repaired and sell it to someone else again who will be happy with it.

What I don't get, is why all this raving and assumptions are posted here. Get in touch with Chrono24 or directly with Jaap and have it fixed in a normal and polite manner, before starting to rant on a forum. Doesn't make sense to me.

In the end, to me it seems you both made mistakes (which is human), so deal with it in the best possible way.

I don't know what happened, so I won't give opinion about the case and/or what to do about it.
But I do know this: The atmosphere created in this topic is leaning towards nailing a respected watch dealer on the cross. A couple self proclaimed detectives are chasing rainbows to do just that. It would be better, or more gentleman like, to solve this matter through PM. And I am absolutely sure Precisionwatches will come up with a solution to satisfy the buyer.

wow, the dutch sure are upset! such language to defend their countryman.

seems like the seller made a few mistakes, and when one runs an internet company transacting in thousands and thousands of euros, mistakes shouldn't happen. when then do, because this is all internet-based, word (whether deservered or not) spreads fast.

ok, sure, maybe (or probably, based on his supposed reputation) he'll "make things right", but, i would be rightly hesitant to buy from him.

it's a pity that the seller is not a member on this forum? it would have been good to hear his side of the story. can any of the Dutch members who have posted confirm that he is aware of this thread? thank you.

A lot of things shouldnt happen but sometime things go wrong. Heard about Greece lately? ;-)

People should fix their mistakes and learn from mistakes. Please name one Large company who has done everything right in all of its existance.

I think this has been blown way out of proportion. A buyer gets a used watch that doesnt meet his taste. Send it back, get a refund and learn from your mistake that purchasing used items online can lead to dissapointments.

Before you accuse somebody, take a look in the mirror first to check what you could have done better. Blaming others is just so easy.

Jaap generally has a good rep but there are a few complaints about him on TZ-UK as well, so it is always right to bring up any problems and just as important to also to tell us how he deals with them. And defending him in such a rude manner only hurts Jaap.

And ruining someones business is legit, without telling the whole story Mr. Watchprofessor? Probably shouldn't have used the F word, all the rest complete legit.

True, but I can imagine the OP feels the need to vent, I wouldn't be very happy either if a mistake like this was made.

As this thread is now getting a bit out of hand, to the OP best keep this topic to yourself and the seller. But when you have both reached a satisfied outcome then re-post, until then this subject is closed.

And to member VictorPanerai.
There is no need for any bad language on forum, you have been warned, heed my warning as you will not be warned again.
