Very hard to watch. Dudes deserved it with his nonsense.
Ps for AP trips, they pay for flights, meals, transportation and activities which is super generous, does this guy expect to be able to use spa services and raid the gift shop, too?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

As far as I’m concerned, if I buy a good it is mine to do with as I wish, keep or sell - unless I have executed an agreement not to sell except under defined terms (e.g. hold for x years).

He should have asked AP how many years he has to hold his AP before assuming 2 years is the cut-off for flipping. AP is launching the Certified Pre-Owned program by end 2023 where they would announce an official holding period, similar to Rolex's CPO of 3 years.
In his video, he also said he did not make any money from flipping his 2 APs. However, when he traded in his 2 APs, the value he traded them for must be market value where he has derived profits above MSRP pricing. Also, AP doesn't care if he traded up for more expensive RG APs because AP doesn't make money from both trade-in transactions. That said, he has a wonderful AP collection and it must be painful losing that MSRP gateway. |

But what don’t you guys understand that at the same time, a dealer will no longer be inclined to give you stuff if you sell it quickly. As at that point, obviously you’re not really into the pieces, as much as you are the money. Just saying, can’t have your cake and eat it too, just the current market. I don’t understand why people harp on this whole ‘it’s mine and I can do what I want’…..yeah, but the dealers can too. |

In the video he mentioned that dealers said 2 years was long enough for him to be allowed to sell these special allocations
Why the hell would he ask dealers in the first place? If he truly did not consult his SA from the beginning, it's hard to sympathize |

Probably because he knew what the answer would be and thought asking forgiveness instead of approval was the better play given his status. A miscalculation it seems. Eh, speculating now I suppose.

Of course he just cares about the MSRP gateway. He wants to leave a life-line But to be honest, this hurts his chances much more than selling the watch. If I were AP, I'd never sell a watch to him again. |

Hm, upon further review, he apparently is "pretty well known". Maybe I'm just too old to properly appreciate the thought process behind posting self-important cringe videos on YT.

Just like AP's goods are theirs to distribute among their clients as they wish, I guess. So all good (except that one of the parties is crying on youtube).

He lost his argument when he got to the part that after selling those two watches he waited a whole year and a half to only get a 16202 rose gold non-50th when he wanted the yellow gold.

Whatever his argument may be, his tone, sense of entitlement are far too strong. We get it, you're someone super super super important.... I live in Taiwan, and can tell you his father is someone "important", he is not....

Taiwanese AP Collector got banned and sharing his story
Dude was super disappointed because they allocated him a gold 16202, when he really wanted the *other* gold 16202. He had to wait for like, a whole entire year.

When he referred to his family a few times early on in the video, he had already lost some credibility on his complaint. Very whiney rich kid, oh poor me and my family being mistreated by big, bad AP. If I had that much money, I would just go buy what I want from the secondary market and a big to literally everyone.

But that would just make you feel rich, not "special".

Hmm, yeah thinking further, I think this guy can go suck a fat one
It isn't difficult to understand APs stance here. Him purchasing a rare model from AP which he DIDN'T want, and trading it to someone on the GM, while leveraging the premium $ that model fetches, simply helps to support the GM. Obviously AP wouldn't tolerate that. It being "his assets" is meaningless, and the fact it was a like for like trade means nothing also from APs perspective |

In Taiwan, a larger than normal percentage of allocations from AP are being sold directly to grey market dealers. The grey market dealers are instructed to only sell to people that will agree to never register the watches as their own. I'm not sure how they are able to enforce this. This is why when I go grey, I rarely ever consider buying in Taiwan unless the price is awesome.
Also, this has now made the news in Taiwan.... Not surprising considering two months ago, a huge news story that dragged on for days was about some semi-famous woman possibly carrying around fake Hermes bags. I really hope AP holds their ground and does not get bullied into giving in by the ridiculous Taiwanese news media. Last edited by kb866; 21 June 2023 at 01:03 AM.. Reason: none |

What also made me cringe was the part where he claimed that he felt so special to have made it into the "inner circle" of AP collectors while insisting on being paid for the same occasion...
