I played 3 hours at Mandalay Bay, but didn't drop my MLife card because I didn't foresee going back in the next year. Curious, would that have even registered, or does one have to play many more hours to hit a meaningful threshold?

I was on 1/2 no limit, but average bet size was ~$15.

One of the greatest things was the night we arrived, I think it was a Thursday. Driving from the airport past all the hotels on the strip seeing huge lines and long waits to check in. Dreading the wait, when we got to the 4 seasons there was no line, zero. Was in my room in 5 minutes.

They generally want to see about 6 hours a day everyday you're there...

I only stay at the Venetian. I could go on and on why but overall it’s just my favorite.

Stayed quite a few places there. Cosmo is by far the nicest place we stayed if we are talking about nice rooms, not a lot of stuff to do within the hotel though.

I usually don't care much about our room though, since I don't spend much time in it, I just like to try new places each time I go. Hoping to do Caesars and Venetian/Palazzo the next times, haven't stayed in either)

One other thing, don't bother going into any of the AD's when you're out here... they are fairly empty or sell to the high rollers for the most part.

Park MGM pros: Newly renovated from dirt to roof. Very clean. Some nice new restaurants that looked quite appealing when I was there last. Decent location. Pretty good pool. Excellent price for what you get. Cons: despite the remodel, it's still a super boring resort. No "wow" factor whatsoever - relative to the others. Lots of construction going on including a large part of the casino, which means there are few food options (at least as of June when I visited). It can be a bit of a walk to get to the other resorts, but not too bad. I also noticed that a lot of folks walking the strip would wander into the casino to see the remodel, but because of the limited space due to the construction it always seemed super busy but without any of the excitement of the other resorts.

Looks like I'm going to book the Bellagio; she's strongly hinted that I really need to consider it... I can eventually take a hint. Any recommendations on the Bellagio tower vs. the Resort tower? Room recommendations are appreciated too.

Stayed center at Bell, about 20 floors up near dead center (whatever room type they call it). Very nice room and view, BUUUUT no balcony like with the Comso. i smoke cigars, so the Bell is a no-go and Cosmo is in.

PS: imho and that of my muse..... the food @ room service Cosmo is better than Bell.

It's worth stopping in. I went in February with a friend who is also a watch enthusiast and he picked up two watches that our local AD didn't have. Paired a Daytona with a YGDD. I think they actually have a sublime stash in their safes waiting for the opportunity to sell to an aggressive buyer.

The Patek AD in Crystals had a 5170g pulsation dial that was discontinued, and a selection of 5205s and world time. They had a 5196r which some in the patek forum have mentioned they couldn't secure at their local stores.

Forum shops will be your best bet, they have many high-end brands stores and two Rolex ADs. Bellagio also has a Rolex AD right next to check in... they do have a two tone Daytona right now.

Any recommendations or observations on which casinos have the best air filtration? Since it was new, we've mostly stayed at Aria, and I've noticed a decline in their filtration. I guess that's par for the course with any system as it ages. But at any given point in time, some will be better than others.

Everyone is saying Wynn, but nobody mentioning the younger and hipper Encore! I’ve stayed at the Wynn two times and Encore many more times, The Wynn does have an older vibe but Encore is excellent for the young adults. Dont miss out on Encore Beach Club and XS for the best resident DJs !

Well, ultimately I vetoed the Bellagio & booked the Cosmo. Unfortunately, my delays in deciding resulted in the Terrace Suite (Fountain views) being sold out & we'll have whatever view is available. Hopefully some will be available & I can upgrade. Either way, we're looking forward to it.

We've also got tickets to "O" & are also looking at Zumanity, Absinthe or Opium; any other interesting/different shows to see?

Well, personally, I think you made the right decision. We loved having a balcony on the strip. If you have a preference on check in, get a higher room. Being Vegas, the strip stays fairly noisy most the night and the elevation really helps. My other suggestion for the Cosmo is don't waste time looking for a spot in the garage on the main level. The elevators are right inside the door, I would just zip to a lower level with no cars on it and park right by the door.

If you don't want to deal with the casino crowd, you can stay at Vdara which is Aria's sister property next door (it's just a hotel).
I wouldn't really call Aria middle of the strip. That's Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Linq & Flamingo on opposite side.
