I think they will be selling for $10k in the next 24 mths. They are virtually non existent now.

A lucky forum member has managed to get one from me at below market price but I don’t think I will sell the other one I have until it hits the five figure mark. If it doesn’t I will happily keep it for my own use.

I like the rubber strap but before I paid 3-10k for two pieces of molded rubber, I'd probably pay the best strap artisan out there to craft a custom padded alligator leather strap that fit the aquanaut lugs perfectly and still have money left over

I’ve had custom leather straps made for mine and they just aren’t as good as the original. Look forward to trying out the green one soon.

Not for the Aquanaut, only the Nautilus range which is on a leather strap

Love it... I only wear mine on the Khaki green strap.

Congrats on the pick up. May I ask what you paid for it? I know the prices are insane now a days.

That green looks rather vibrant, is that a Tiffany green special?

Rubberb’s Swiss factory makes OEM Patek Philippe straps. They say they cannot make a competing rubber strap for the aquanaut.

Guys what’s happened with pricing and demand for the green rubber post the release of the 5168G in green.

Has it cooled off demand or further fuelled it instead?

In my opinion the 5167 black dial with the green strap looks better than the all green 5168.

I believe the lug width of the 5168 is wider than the 5167, so the khaki green from the 5168 won’t fit on the 5167 or 5164. Presumably the secondary price of the 5167 khaki green would keep in that case.

Can anyone confirm the lug widths are different?

That’s correct the lug widths are different and so the straps can’t be interchanged

Yes they can't, think the green 67 fits on the 64 but maybe not perfectly.

I think the green strap price will remain very high, no one seems to want to lower prices no matter what real world events happen or don't happen, the only way seems up.

Thats a bummer. Would love it if they could make some options.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys. $6k for an OEM piece of rubber is pretty astronomical. You could probably get a completely custom leather/rubber strap with curved lugs for less than $1k.

For $6000, I could get 20 Camille Fournet straps and arm my entire 12 watch collection with extra straps.

So no, I will not buy one at $6000 :O

Maybe put the $6000 towards the hand grenade 5168-G?

I find it hard to believe there isn't an after-market market for this. Why doesn't someone produce alternative Aquanaut straps?

There are alt leather straps for many watch brands out there. Rubber and nylon alternatives for Panerai, etc.

Agreed.

So people are spending the cost of a Submariner on a rubber strap?
