Not quite sure what you're trying to say. That the Tudor is selling slightly over MSRP? I guess that's nice, but I bet 5 years from now nobody will be particularly interested in this Tudor, while the Sub will still be as desired as always.

What u need to do is stop looking at instagram.

The current market watches Rolex/Tudor are dropping on the gray market not increasing. I would not be buying a single one at inflated prices. Even the grays are worried and not buying any stock.

Not really. The drop in prices has receded this last week- at least for Rolex. Tudor, though, is another story.

Not even interested in buying a BLNR/LV or BLRO unless you practically sell it at MSRP to them.

There's plenty of stock for Tudor in Sydney.

I see them everywhere so not sure why people would pay more than rrp in AU.

Not sure globally.

Rolex, there is none in AD and can see why people would pay over rrp especially if they want it desperately.

Most Tudors are readily available, but I believe the original post is with reference to the BB58 which has been notoriously difficult to get hold of since it’s release earlier last year. They are however cropping up more and more now and not to difficult to get your hands on. I got the call from my AD a few weeks back.

It’s been hard to get because it’s a new release, which is not the case for the sub. Two different scenarios and I can’t see supply issues mirroring that of the sub. It was a similar situation until recently for the Tudor GMT but these are now quite readily available with second hand prices now below retail.

Most will think this is a rude comment and it probably is but....

Tudor to me is just like a fake/poor mans rolex

Few people aspire to a Tudor in life

I think it’s just Tudor manipulating things I wouldn’t get drawn in by the hype

I have both Rolex and Tudor in my collection. The modern tudor are well made and definitely value for money. Rolex is simply overpriced in my opinion.

Not rude imo.

Though if you think Tudor is Rolex, buying one because you can't afford a Rolex or as an interim until you get a Rolex, then buying a Tudor is a mistake.

But if you know Tudor and not buying for the above reasons then go for it.

In looking at the Tudor market the BB58 and the Black Bay GMT have done well in the Grey Market and in the pre-owned trade market. Most others in the line-up are typically of pre-owned prices across several brands. Not Rolex or PP of course. The comment of, "Tudor is a poor mans Rolex or Tudor buyers are waiting to get enough money to buy a Rolex." Ok, everyone is entitled to an opinion but my experience is that a lot of serious collectors and enthusiasts enjoy Tudor. I wore a Rolex ND Submariner-C for several years and I prefer my Black Bay. Taking into account the size, price, fit, finish and wear. Now compare it to my SD43 and the Rolex is much stronger. But I also think that multiple watches can be in a collection and can be enjoyed.

From what I have seen Tudor is holding pretty steady. NIB desires models are at about MSRP from greys.

Tudor is not a poor man’s Rolex. I have both and enjoy both. As others have said, Tudor is in many ways what Rolex used to be. If you think Tudor is a poor man’s Rolex you are missing out.

Is Rolex a poor man’s PP/AP??

Not rude. 99% of people buy Rolex to portray a lifestyle of wealth and success. I assume you are one of them (which is not a bad thing).

I have both the SubC and Tudor 58 and can honestly say the Tudor is much more enjoyable to wear (in every way)... it is theoretically superior technically (though nothing beats the iconic status of the 3135). It just has a much more romantic feel. I wanted a 14060, but it felt cheap on the wrist. The 58 solves this with better build quality. Will anyone ever look at my wrist and envy a Tudor? No. But I don’t care for that as you probably do.

Though the SubC is undeniably a better watch, relatively speaking, the 58@$4k > SubC@$9K+ hands down.

To OP, davidSw has one for 4600USD lol. That is a joke.

I just don’t see a Rolex as some aspirational goal. Kind of like saying I aspire to buy a $9000 car. In the grand scheme it is just not that big of a deal.

Does anyone actually pay that? Tudor don't allocate so if it's not in stock, you just order one.

My AD wanted payment up front (with the usual discount) and 2.5 months for delivery.

But you will quite happily get dawn into the Rolex exclusivity hype.

I buy what I like and don't give a flying fudge what the perceptions of others are, good grief i sometimes wear a 40 year old Timex.

I do however wear the Tudor supplied brown paper bag over my head when wearing one of my Tudors in public so as to avoid the the humiliation of being ridiculed by the passing elite wearing their Rolex.

Tudor makes a great watch. I am buying one this year. Thinking of getting a Heritage Chrono and a vintage Big Block. I have plenty of Rolex. Tudor is one of the best value plays in watches imho, and there is room in almost any collection for both if you like them.

I strongly disagree. I think it’s extremely limited to view Tudor the way you’ve described. Tudor has been making some great watches recently, and they represent great value. It may not be an aspirational watch to many, but it’s definitely a watch-lovers watch. Having said that, you’re obviously entitled to your opinion.

If you are not familiar with Tudor’s history and the vintage Tudor watches that sell for Big Money....I guess you can make uneducated comments like this....

Respectfully disagree.

I own pateks, royal oaks, and lots of rolexes, and my tudor gmt gives me something those don't. It has a retro, vintage tool watch feel to it and the quality/price value is outstanding.

It's a fantastic watch in its own right.
